mrgungho Posted April 28, 2017 Posted April 28, 2017 Just curious how it looks up around Shell Knob after last week's rain has settled... I went last Sunday and it was high and tough fishing but water was only "stained" around big Creek /mill creek areas. I'm also looking to get out Sunday after this upcoming round of water and looking for any thoughts advice on what condition will more than likely be if we get the rain that is currently forecasted. Thanks in advance for your time! "Some go to church and think about fishing, others go fishing and think about God."
Members slowbait Posted April 28, 2017 Members Posted April 28, 2017 if we get all this rain, I bet they will close the lake like they did a few years ago. Its at 919 now without the rain coming and beaver is full already 96 CHAMP 1
96 CHAMP Posted April 28, 2017 Posted April 28, 2017 If not you better be darn careful out there, the owners of pla-port told me just a bit ago there is debris everywhere and that the Kings is a log jam. Do yourself a favor and stay off the lake and don"t be a statistic. Bassmod 1
*T* Posted April 28, 2017 Posted April 28, 2017 Yes, everyone should stay off of the lake at least until Memorial Day. ? I'll let you know what's going on. Bassmod, marcus and vernon 3 "Water is the driving force of all Nature." -Leonardo da Vinci
Sprint21fter Posted April 29, 2017 Posted April 29, 2017 Fish the steep cuts along the channel with spinnerbait or jig. You won't even have to get on plane in order to save a lower unit! Be safe!
mrgungho Posted April 29, 2017 Author Posted April 29, 2017 If it's heavy log jams and all that I'll wait. Are there any areas on TR that are consistently the least impacted by heavy floods (chocolate milk, logs, hazards etc....) Or maybe areas that generally recover the most quickly from floods? Imagine being a pro on Beaver tomorrow having to fish the FLW tourney for a living. "Some go to church and think about fishing, others go fishing and think about God."

Yesterday you could get around, but needed to use some sense and caution. Now? Who knows.

They probably told them everything on Beaver was cancelled, too, so as not to have a riot on their hands. Beaver is much closer to the top of the dam this morning (about 2.5 feet) than Table Rock and has at least as much floating trash. Doesn't really seem fair to let the big boys keep fishing and send everyone on TR home. And yes, I realize there's only 20 boats fishing today on Beaver but numbers don't change the matter of principle. crazy4fishin and NebSchmidty 2
