motoman Posted May 2, 2017 Posted May 2, 2017 Fished Kimberling City today, 5/1, water visibility is about 2-3 feet still; and regular ole small debris here and there, like from any other spring storm. Water is about 934 when we fished. Started at 9:00am to winds gusting to 35+, and windchill 38'ish. Cloudy and drizzle. As mentioned previously, just don't run around wide open like a lunatic and you'll be fine. - Launched from resort ramp and dock. Planned our attack night before to hit some spots out of the wind. Could not scratch ANY fish out of the shallows/flooded timber; no flippin', no pitchin', no spinnerbait-fast and slow, no finesse, no fluke, and not even Ned could help us in the flooded stuff.......not even in people's backyards .......I mean nuttin'!........ No matter how hard we tried. I just don't think the fish have really moved up there yet. So we fished what we know and fished our strengths (sound familiar?:-)........ We fished the original shoreline and out deeper. Ned was a good friend today, for what was a grind. Caught about 12 fish from 9:00-5:00. Only had 3 keepers, largemouth. Lost 2 more right at the boat. Tough to get a hookset on them cause the line just got heavy........and it just felt like we were hung up on a durn stick, so we were hesitant to hammer the hookset. Tomorrow's a new day with sun, 74 and a little wind. Fingers crossed we have a better day. - Can't get under the 13 bridge; here's a pic from the water........sorry for the distance; I didn't feel like getting pounded by waves for a good pic.(bridge is closed to traffic as of tonight too) - All that to say; yes fishing was tough for us, but there's MUCH better anglers than myself on these boards.......and fishing is bound to change. If you want to fish, find a ramp or resort that has a ramp, close to big coves you like to fish and idle over to where you want to and come on down to fish. At least at KC, mud and debris isn't here yet. Good luck! NebSchmidty, merc1997 Bo, Royal Blue and 8 others 11

vernon Posted May 2, 2017 Posted May 2, 2017 That's actually great news. Each day should get a little better until all heck breaks loose. I hope. Glad you were able to make "lemonade" in those conditions! "Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups." George Carlin "The only money ever wasted is money never spent." Me.
Sprint21fter Posted May 2, 2017 Posted May 2, 2017 Moto, can a person idle under the north side of bridge.
