stlfisher Posted May 16, 2017 Posted May 16, 2017 Took my 4 year old and 2 year old fishing over the weekend. 4 year old is a seasoned vet. 2 year old wanted to retreive the "ball", known to adults as a bobber, from the water. I managed to not stroke out and he managed to catch his first fish. I love the look of amazement and excitement in pics. They want to go every night and I am happy to take them. Deadstream Posted May 16, 2017 Posted May 16, 2017 Very nice! Will Mom be grouchy because of no Life Jackets.? Took my 5 yr old nephew fishing in Ca., caught his first trout and sent his Mother and MO (my Mom) a picture of him kissing it good bye. Would have thought I had him at the girly club with a beer. I was in TROUBLE ! Then the bugger ratted my brother and I out for letting him"drive" the truck... stlfisher 1
Gavin Posted May 16, 2017 Posted May 16, 2017 That's awesome! Took my 7yr old daughter on her school fishing field trip yesterday. Went to the fish hatchery in Forest Park. She caught 12 bluegill in 40 minutes, and almost landed a 5-6lb bass that she induced into eating her hooked bluegill. She had a ball. Bass Yakker, Johnsfolly and stlfisher 3

I actually tried to put him in one, but it wouldn't fit. I did pick up another one, because he would totally jump in. 4 year old is pretty self sufficient and a strong swimmer. I feel comfortable around the pond, but boats or docks he gets a life jacket too. Great story about your nephew, my boys accidentally rat me out too. The oldest is starting to learn some things are best kept between us guys. MGP, Daryk Campbell Sr and dtrs5kprs 3

Sounds like she had a great time with the Bluegill as well.
JestersHK Posted May 17, 2017 Posted May 17, 2017 Nice job, and agree that first pic is awesome. Good on you for getting them out there
stlfisher Posted June 19, 2017 Author Posted June 19, 2017 My 4 year old caught this nice Bass on a horny toad a few weekends ago. Also took the kiddos out to Montauk for a quick trip to take advantage of the eight inchers. Not sure if you can see the expressions of my 2 year old, but the faces he makes cracks me up. Johnsfolly Posted June 19, 2017 Posted June 19, 2017 Great job getting the boys out fishing! Looks like you guys are having a great time every time you go out. Hopefully they'll be fishing buddies for life! I'm not sure that I want mom to know about half the places that I take my youngest daughter . She likes going and doesn't rat me out when we are in less than safe situations.
stlfisher Posted June 21, 2017 Author Posted June 21, 2017 Mom was with us. She took the pictures. No way I take them alone. One adult per child is my motto... and always within reach of the 2 year old. Found a nice shallow spot with no current so they could get there feet wet. Most of the stream I would never dream of taking them. 2 year old had a life jacket on most of the time. He was most interested in the playground and rock throwing so minimal time fishing.
