All kinds of wakes and I do not see how that boat loaded down with people will not displace a lot of water.

Because you obviously have no knowledge of how a flat bottom jet boat operates. Of all the boats you have seen on LoO I will bet a very small percentage, if any, were flat bottom jet boats.

Besides that It looks dangerous for passengers and other boat traffic

That is entirely your opinion, and invalid because again you have little or no knowledge of the subject.

Similar boats have been operating on much more treacherous waters for a long time with no calamities. The captain of these boats, and the company he works for are not likely to endanger anyone in today's litigious world.

That boat is going to have to be moving pretty fast to get up on high plane as well.

Again, as facts have been quoted by the operator, "speeds up to 30MPH"

Not exactly "high speed" in today's boating world.

You have checked my profile recently, so you know I am not a young man. But I also do not let my years hold me back to a time long gone, not hold me back from enjoying myself. Including jet boats, and ATVs!

Finally, Phil is too much of  gentleman to comment, but I find your insistence in calling him by his last name only insulting, and disrespectful!

Phil Lilley is a man of high moral values, and integrity. He is only trying to hold this conversation to facts, and not conjecture. Facts that you seem to ignore while continuing unsubstantiated conjecture.

Well I have owned a few John Boats in my time. and used to guide occasionally on the Meramac river between birds nest and To onandaga. I am  starting to suspect you might sell these things. I know there is a place in St Louis somewhere they do. You have a god time enjoying yourself Wyipper Snapper.

Yeah...right....I am sure Phil is highly insulted by his last name:rolleyes: bottom line is most fisherman and lovers of the outdoors think this jet boat tour is not cool for fishing environments....not an attack on YOUR jet boating.....anyone ever had issues with skiers and PWC users at our area lakes??? I am safe to say most regular fisher people have...i

That said many a fishing boat has pulled a tube or skiers. but I can tell you, if you want regulations slammed on a lake, just hack off home owners and fisher people who vote...I will tell you people stay on Taney over TR because of these kinds of things..

I never fished TR much in daylight once the water temps allowed more of that crowd on the water

Gatorjet do you sell them? or friends /buddies..with the people who build that tour boat?

if it goes over I am sure we can look forward to a fleet of said craft on Taney...you are a bit hyper resistance to people not liking the idea of one boat running all over the lake...but who ever did build it, would have a huge vested interest in building say...3 or heaven forbid 10 more of the things...food for thought

And the perpetualy offended continue to be offended even though they have zero experience on the issue.

Plus if you still believe that voters make a difference you haven't been paying attention. But it's difficult to do when you are so busy trying to stir monkey dodo up. Homeowners and fisher people that vote did not want this on Taneycomo. Guess what? It happened anyway. The homeowners, fisher people, and COE didn't want more docks on Table Rock. Guess what? Yep those wonderful people that you voted for made it happen anyway. Money always wins. Period.

If you have experience on that stretch of river in a jet boat, how can you possibly compare LoZ traffic with that of a jet boat? They are polar opposites.

I agree with Gator on the whole jet boat thing. With that said, I would MUCH rather this jet boat business not be on Taneycomo. The biggest issue to me is whether it stays below highway 65. There are times when you can barely get a fishing rig up through Short Creek so there is no way this attraction jet ride could make it up that way.

Then a "group" needs to grease the right wheels, its called campaign contributions, who does have the say? in other states speed limit zones has squashed out of control boat use...some even have days you can't do anything BUT fish or slot times.

Missouri has ways to put things on ballots...I hate regulations, yet sometimes people are stupid and do stupid things that Foxtrot Uniform the fishing...as a carp fisherman they thought we couldn't get trophy fishery in Lady Bird lake ( formally Town Lake) in Austin, Texas yet now its  "only one carp 33 inches or greater may be retained each day." I can tell you, if you do it right it can be done...If I was so inclined I would start with the economic impact with lost of fishing would do to the area.

I think a study was done in the 80s on how much money was brought to the Branson area on a per trout basis....it would be good to get a scientific study/poll on anglers who would fish less here because of that, and calculate (allowing for adjusted for inflation) on the previous work and you would have leverage, perhaps from Missouri State University in Springfield? it would be a good Masters project.....

Thinking he has no jet experience anywhere. Just Jon boats with prop drive outboards.

Seth has it exactly right. As long as the Branson jet boat stays on the lower section where there is ample room to operate I have no objection to it. Even fishing in that part of the lake, which I do often, should not be adversely affected.

I have nothing to do with building, or selling any kind of boat. I am only trying to point out facts about how they operate. I know the guys at Gator Boats only because I bought one from them. They build a very fine boat, and have several models from a flat bottom to a V-hull like the one I had built in a tournament bass boat layout. To 21' high performance tunnel hulls. But they do not build 50 passenger tour boats.

As mentiomed in the previous thread I have no connection with people that build 50 passenger  jet boats.

As for more of them being on the lake, market saturation will determine that. How many "ride the ducks", which create a bigger wake than the jet boat will, are there in Branson. One company, two locations.

While I only fish the lower Taney a few times a year (I mostly fish Stockton) out of a 20 foot bass boat, I posted my experience on the Lower Taney forum from this past Saturday where I experienced the Branson Jet boat come right by me and the wife while fishing.  It even did a few circles and sharp turns across from me throwing water up ( I was fishing across form Bull creek).  You can read my post over there but my experience was it was rather loud but the wake was much smaller than I was expecting.  Granted my boat is a 20 footer and stable but the wake was much smaller than the wake boats throw off.
