I've gone to using the 10 pack of gel super glue that Harbor Freight sells.  It's cheap, the tubes are small so if it does glue itself shut I don't waste a lot, and it works just as well as the Loctite stuff.

Have you tried any other glues, Dave?

Yes. The Loctite silver bottle has been the best. Some of the cheap ones, especially the squeeze tubes, react with the plastic.

Am not!   Just keepin' it real.   There are some things that certain people can't be trusted with. With me it is lawn mowers.  You could loan me a perfectly good QUALITY lawn tractor and I'll have that thing torn all to hell in a matter of minutes.  Totally refuse to work on one also, so when they explode I just hop off and walk away.  They (the mowers) are the haters, they hate me and personally I don't have time for their cranky fickleness.

At least when I work on a boat there is a positive payoff (somebody gets to go fishing!),.  But when you work on a mower the only payoff is.....Oh Yay, now I get to MOW THE DAM YARD.   Pizz on that!

I once beat a mower into submission with a maul at about 2am after working on it for hours. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

So I am expecting to receive my personal letter of thanks from the CEO of Loctite anytime for supporting the company. I have purchased probably a half dozen bottles of the darn stuff this year, and no matter how careful I am...store it upright...clean the tip after using...etc., it always manages to glue itself shut after a couple uses. Sometimes I can stuff the Ned wire down the hole and salvage one more use, but have never actually used up a bottle of the stuff. Has anyone? Open to any tips on how to get more out of off bottle of the stuff, or an alternate product that works? Can get down to $2.70 a pop if you buy 10 on amazon, but sucks knowing you still won't ever get to use most it.  OK, early AM whine fest done...have a good day all, hope they bite for you...I'll think about you at work.

Switch to Gorilla Glue Gel. Twice the cost going in, but 10 times the longevity. You can actually use a bottle up. I have never had a bottle get clogged. I did lose a bottle over the side of the boat (I think) one day.

FULL Disclosure: I think the Loc Tite is a little better glue BUT the Gorilla Glue Gel is plenty good enough.

Yeah that's weird because I usually get most everything out of every bottle of the Loc-Tite. I don't Ned really at all but I do glue lots of trailers and other plastic baits. Maybe you got several bad bottles in a row?

Read and follow their instructions and you should have a much better experience. I certainly have ; I'm done with Loc Tite.

I guess I have been under thinking it or just not paying attention.  I use the gorilla gel and a tube of something called fishing glue igoe from bps.  That stuff is thin and very clear, is easy to get glue on your fingers, but I wear old pants fishing for a reason and just wipe it off.  Haven't had problems with them gluing shut, and I am definitely not a quick cap putter back on person.
