m&m Posted July 31, 2017 Posted July 31, 2017 I just returned from the first COE meeting at the Chateau. I was able to submit my concerns verbally to a court reporter who was taking down my every word. I spoke about the size of boats, the removal of buoys, establishing no wake areas and the number of docks. It is the quickest way to submit your comments. They had a number of stations set up where you could ask general or specific questions. The questions I heard from most of the people were about their personal dock. I did not hear any general questions being asked. While we were there I would say there were about 75-100 people there. Mike magicwormman, Browning Guy, abkeenan and 7 others 9 1

Was anything said about the solar power requirement on the docks? I'll be at the Reed Springs meeting too? Bobby
Members slowbait Posted August 1, 2017 Members Posted August 1, 2017 I know the government will never get rid of the oversize boats on TR. So they should at least meet us halfway and have a no wake law at night for these tuna rigs so we fisherman can also enjoy the lake. Last week I almost got got thrown out of a 21 foot ranger twice at about 10:30 at night. This is nuts when you can't see the wakes coming at you. If you where in a jon boat you would have capsized and no one would known. magicwormman and dtrs5kprs 2

If you have a current dock and want to replace it, and you have overhead or underground service you can still use it and don't have to have alternative power for 10 years. Mike

Sure, you can have your 30'+ boat on TR, no problem. You just can't put it on plane at anytime. Why? 1) Safety to all others. 2) Bank erosion protection. 3) Prevent damage to docks. 4) Prevent damage to other boats in docks. Massive boats on an inland reservoir like TR is wrong. Not sure which location would be closest for you, but let Corp and Water Patrol hear from you and share your concerns and experiences from the affects. Shell Knob at the Methodist Church (I think) this p.m. from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. or Reeds Springs tomorrow (Wed.) 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. or write the Corps and cc the Water Patrol BEFORE AUGUST 30,2017. They are asking for input. Share your experiences and concerns. Smalliebigs 1

Knocked a big chunk out of my boat. 😡😤😡 TICKED!!
bobby b. Posted August 3, 2017 Posted August 3, 2017 I went to the Reed Springs High School meeting tonight. I talked to the Ranger about the solar power issue and the buoys. He said these were the two hot issues and both will be revisited due to the many comments. Wish I could believe that. He also said that the plan will not be finalized for a year or so.
m&m Posted August 3, 2017 Posted August 3, 2017 Well if the COE said it will be revised, you can take it to the bank. It will surprise me if it is revised in a good way. All new docks today must have solar power. The newspaper said that a lot of people were questioning the mowing that will be allowed on the shoreline leading to their dock. I didn't hear anyone speak about it. It also said that marinas and resorts have different regulations. Mike
