MOPanfisher Posted September 2, 2017 Posted September 2, 2017 Dove breast marinated in Italian dressing, a slice of jalapeno in the middle and wrapped in bacon. Hot grilled to medium rare. Many a person who said dove isn't fit to eat has changed their mind after a dove popper. Johnsfolly, tho1mas and Deadstream 3

BilletHead Posted September 2, 2017 Posted September 2, 2017 Out there again this morning for a short while. Same place I was yesterday morning and this time I put Mrs. BilletHead in the spot where I shot my limit yesterday. I took a stand about forty yards away. She had me four to one right off the bat and then I caught up and passed her. We got a limit between us and I shot better a than fifty percent ratio. The Mrs. started good but soon went down hill on her hits. I guess I messed things up as there was not near the action I had yesterday but the reliving the past went on between us saying remember this and that looking towards the old house place. The highlight of this morning happened when the sun began to hit and I was in the sun. I got up and walked over to Pat and asked if she was ready to quit? Out of the South came a pair of birds, I shouted collared doves, they closed ground fast and I told Pat you take the one on the left and I will try for the right bird. We shot at the same time and each of our birds fell! This was Pat's first Eurasian and my second. Both birds were still quite alive as we chased them into submission. With that we did decide to call it a day . wily Posted September 3, 2017 Posted September 3, 2017 Thanks for the well wishes...i shot it tonight...good little gun I think. Capps creek better than Shawnee trail we thought...quite a few people out this afternoon but wasn't bad. Seemed like birds quit flying about 630. Hunting a silage field in am...should be much better...last year we cow killed em on this field...so the boys expectations are high. I just hope we run out of shells BilletHead and Chief Grey Bear 2
wily Posted September 3, 2017 Posted September 3, 2017 We had fun...the oldest got his limit...and the youngest got to shoot his new gun...he got a handful...said he was averaging one about every 12 shots...I said that was about my average too. Older boy had em coming in pretty good on his mojo...and was shooting at much better average. Chief Grey Bear, Quillback, BilletHead and 2 others 5
