Ozarks Chillbilly Posted September 21, 2017 Posted September 21, 2017 Going to start a new thread here. Maybe there is a thread similar to this already, but ive noticed some of the pictures have started to expire. Here's a fresh start. I'll kick it off with a wool head sculpin I tied up. Not necessarily 'pretty, but it should push some water and hopefully catch some fish. Might add some fins to the next one. Other than a few lead wraps there is no other weight to the fly. Probably going to tie up some black and white ones too to try out at night this weekend. Share on! trythisonemv Posted September 21, 2017 Posted September 21, 2017 Pretty cool man! You are really into the streamer game! I'm starting to get into it as well. If u are around at the taney Oct 1&2 ill be down chucking big stuff I've concocted. BilletHead and Ozarks Chillbilly 2
BilletHead Posted September 21, 2017 Posted September 21, 2017 Nice, Nothing to share right now. I am a jack of all trades and a master of none. Short version a seasonal tier. Meaning is I have too many irons in the fire this time of the year to tie. You can look up my old posts from several years to see what I have experimented with, BilletHead Ozarks Chillbilly 1 "We have met the enemy and it is us", Pogo If you compete with your fellow anglers, you become their competitor, If you help them you become their friend" Lefty Kreh " Never display your knowledge, you only share it" Lefty Kreh "Eat more bass and there will be more room for walleye to grow!" Fishing dries and nymphs is fun and all, but for me streamers is where it's at. I might be on the 1st. Basically just down on the weekends fishing like an owl in the night haha. Might find ya down there sometime! Update on the fly: the fins and this different wool I used I like the profile a lot better. Just need to use a bigger zonker and I think the ingredients are complete: Live count (10/19/17) : Streamers lost to Taneycomo's Giant Squid = 12
fishinwrench Posted September 21, 2017 Posted September 21, 2017 I've been filling in holes for the Fall Whites/Hybrids. All of my other boxes are full. BilletHead 1

Those are some really neat looking flies! Love the ones with articulating shanks. I've never been fishing for hybrids or whites. Does it have quite a big learning curve? It looks super fun but i'm pretty weak at targeting bass in bigger waters in the first place. Live count (10/19/17) : Streamers lost to Taneycomo's Giant Squid = 12
fishinwrench Posted September 21, 2017 Posted September 21, 2017 The learning curve is just in the finding/locating of them. Once found they are usually pretty easy to catch. If you like stripping streamers then one day of catching temperate bass will change your life. They hit like a freight train and fight like hell. For a 6 pack of MGD I'll put you on some. I love watching guys get into them for the first time. 🤗 Daryk Campbell Sr, laker67, duckydoty and 2 others 5
Ozarks Chillbilly Posted September 21, 2017 Author Posted September 21, 2017 I could only imagine, beautiful fish too. I might have to take you up on that offer sometime, sounds right up my ally! Where do you typically fish them? Bull Shoals? Live count (10/19/17) : Streamers lost to Taneycomo's Giant Squid = 12

Actually never tried chasing them in the Fall. Got to try it. Cool photo buddy. Wrench is right Mr. Chillbilly you will get eat up with temperate bass once you get started. The BilletHead's are really, really ate up with them. A couple of this summers fish, BilletHead tho1mas, trythisonemv, Johnsfolly and 3 others 6 "We have met the enemy and it is us", Pogo If you compete with your fellow anglers, you become their competitor, If you help them you become their friend" Lefty Kreh " Never display your knowledge, you only share it" Lefty Kreh "Eat more bass and there will be more room for walleye to grow!"
