Members JR Reed Posted September 23, 2017 Members Posted September 23, 2017 I just moved to the area and have tried a few spots on Table Rock, but have yet to get a bite. I know Table Rocks is best fished by boat, but can you help a new neighbor who doesn't know anyone with a boat? Thanks!
Ellros Posted September 24, 2017 Posted September 24, 2017 A few of the Corp launch sites/campgrounds/public use areas have some decent spots. IIRC, Quillback did some shore fishing earlier this year and caught some nice fish around the Corp site near Viney Creek? Royal Blue 1
bobby b. Posted September 24, 2017 Posted September 24, 2017 Yea, search for Quillback's shore reports - at the time I recall thinking he is doing better from the shore than I often do in a boat. MoCarp and big c 2
Members JR Reed Posted September 24, 2017 Author Members Posted September 24, 2017 Thanks guys. Having trouble locating his stuff, but I'll keep trying.
Quillback Posted September 24, 2017 Posted September 24, 2017 As mentioned above, Viney campground has quite a bit of bank access, Big M has quite a bit of accessible bank, and there is a bit at Eagle Rock. Gets better when (if) the water goes down a few feet from where it is now, more bank is exposed. There are some neighborhood type boat launches on Viney cove across from the park, and there's another one at Emerald Beach. that provide more access. All in all, a lot of bank to fish in that area, you can stay busy fishing for a good chunk of the day if you want. magicwormman 1
MoCarp Posted September 24, 2017 Posted September 24, 2017 lots depends WHAT you want to fish for...like white bass in springtime...or snagging spoonbill....or a huge carp or catfish.....as far as crappie...find a boat dock..some will charge you....some all you need to do is ask....I know more than a few that get a boat slip to crappie fish in..don't even keep a boat at the lake..hardest thing to do better on shore than in a boat is bass..but then you can wade the creeks for that ..so much water to fish and so little time! snagged in outlet 3 Posted September 24, 2017 Posted September 24, 2017 You gotta put "huge" in reference to carp. You just can't help yourself can you?
