Good luck to you and your son. It's great that you will get to spend that time together. I hope that you two do well.
96 CHAMP Posted October 3, 2017 Posted October 3, 2017 I was thinking of A November trip, looks even more probable now with all the tournaments. Hit the whites at LOZ first. Thanks for the heads up Champ 188. Basfis, magicwormman and Champ188 3

Annual Homer Sloan derby is this Saturday out of Campbell Point (they used to also launch/weigh in at Viola), plus there's another Champion owners derby out of Kimberling City. The ginormous (225 boats on the permit) Cops 4 Kids derby is next Tuesday out of the state park, then there's a 150-boat high school tournament Oct. 14-15. Joe Bass is having its championship Oct. 21-22 and Anglers in Action is here the following weekend, Oct. 28-29. Both are permitted for 150 boats. Sooooo ... I'm sure we can expect some "temporary new members" and lots of questions over the next few weeks. Just sayin ... might want to keep this in mind when posting information. you missed the toyota owners tourney on oct. 15. see why i night fish? bo Champ188, magicwormman and Sore Thumbs 3

Can't say I retired but, I also can't get too excited to start again. Other than big bass events to payouts are terrible. Entry, fuel lodging (forget about time) and winning most of the trail events is break even. $1500 first place in a team trail is sad. The co-angler side of the old central or heartland pro-ams paid better.

I may fish the TR division of AIA this coming spring just to spend some time with a good friend and promote my guide business but I'm not expecting to recoup my expenses by any means. merc1997 Bo and magicwormman 2
Ranger Z22 Posted October 4, 2017 Posted October 4, 2017 Sounds like a good weekend to do some work around the house. Was out a couple of Saturdays ago, thought I needed a checker flag for the boys running up the lake, the guy I was with wanted to know if was always this busy on a Saturday Z22
vernon Posted October 4, 2017 Posted October 4, 2017 Figures. We'll be back on the 14th for our last week long visit of the year. I shouldn't be surprised though - seems like it's been that way for quite some time now. Two day high school tournament though? Not sure which I hate more these days - kids or bass tournaments! Old age has made me so totally mellow and accepting of "other" things in life though. Just not kids or bass tournaments! I'll be the guy in the silver Ranger sitting in the middle of the lake chanting like Rick Clunn. Inner peace shall be mine, inner peace shall be mine, inner peace shall...........
