fishinwrench Posted October 17, 2017 Posted October 17, 2017 Glitter boats and fly gear just don't go together It's just wrong... like hauling firewood in a mini-van wrong. There's this.... And this... Not to mention seats, windshields, electronics, and everything else that is there to grab line and ruin an otherwise perfect double haul. I have enough trouble keeping my feet off the line, I don't need any additional obstacles. Oh I caught a few short green fish while waiting for the shadows to get longer But I should have known what kinda evening it was gonna be when I eased into the White bass "magic area" and found it occupied by this Lovers of Death convention. Tonight was not the night. While I sat and waited for signs of nervous shad I noticed tons of Lake O midge shucks on the water. Then captured a hatchling. This is what has replaced dragonfly's and damselfly's over the last 10 years. Usually they hatch in Mid September. They are several weeks late this year. Yeah, he pooped on me I watched and waited.....nothing happened. Piss on it I'm about ready to break out the gear and go join Oldplug and 96Champ further down. 96 CHAMP Posted October 17, 2017 Posted October 17, 2017 I thought I may have seen you throwing the fly on the gravois Monday. Wasn't sure so I didn't stop, but now that I see you we're in a red boat I'm sure it was you, decided to stay another day, they came up again Monday evening but were scattered more and when they did show they didn't stay up long, only ended up with 4, caught some nice bass on the lipless yesterday afternoon
Old plug Posted October 17, 2017 Posted October 17, 2017 Whats your boat look like Champ. I might have seen you. I am easy to identify. Big old Targa with the word deaf in 3" letters on both sdes of the boat. Been down the lake sunday evening thru Friday evning for a couple weeks now. I am usially not with the rest of the boats though. I do not spend much time chasing the risers. Got 6 Hybrids last evening 15 and 16 inches long. Funny you could throw a spoon into a bunch splashing around and and they would not bite. But let them be under the suface and they would slam it hard. We got a 7lb hybrid so far this season down there. On evening last week I got 3 stripers about 18" long. I go down -about 5 and leave at dark. Mitch f, conorsixtakc and laker67 3

Old plug Posted October 18, 2017 Posted October 18, 2017 I will be down the lake I am about sure Sunday evening. I fish the area above Tonys point and below Coffmans Beach. The hybrid fishing down there today stunk. I never got a bite and did not see anyone else who did. Had my ignition battery fail and had to come back up to my home on Cedar point in Mill Creek after dark without any lights . kind of like a early halloween uncomfortable scary feeling. I know they been killing the crappie. Both a friend across the lake and my neighbor across the road have been at it for sometime. I like to catch crappie in the morning and have them for lunch now and then. I am spoiled to that kind of fresh eating. So I do not fish for tgem very often except for fun. grizwilson 1
