Members Lake Lover
Where's The Fish? I was just wondering, since i am fairly new to fishing Table Rock, is this slow time we have been experiencing, or at least I have, for the last several weeks normal? I wasn't sure if this is just a normal cycle, or hopefully something that we don't experience very often. I was hoping some of you gents that have been on the lake for awhile would know what's up? Our day's on the water have been extremely slow. Hope everyone else is doing a little better than us.
abkeenan
Don't get too down on yourself if you aren't catching right now. This is pretty typical for The Rock this time of year. Fish should push up shallow chasing bait into the back of creeks and whatnot fairly soon. The tournament weights the last 2 weeks or so is all you need to see to tell ya it's TUFFFFFF out there right now.
IL Fisherman
I fished 5 days last week and caught 20 with maybe 4 keepers. That is darn tuff. Hope its better in November when I come. Toughest I have seen it in several years. Good Luck!
Members Lake Lover
It is definitely not from a lack of trying, but that does seem to be the case right now with everyone i have talked to that has been out lately, and yes, the tournament weights, WOW, that has made me aware that it's not just my inexperience on this lake , that it must be tough all over right now. However trying to convince my 19 year old that it's not just old dad, that is slow all over is a whole different story, but he is hanging in there like a trooper. Thanks guy's, i figured from what i have seen and heard it is awful slow out there, but just didn't know if this was just a norm for the time of year or something that was "hopefully" unusual. Hopefully we can post some better reports soon! Good luck everyone!
Champ188
October is notoriously slow and I also believe the glut of baitfish left from two years of no winter shad kill is complicating things. Many fish are simply following the shad schools and not setting up on traditional places. Ellros, Longball22 and Ranger Z22
Quillback
Looks like a weather change headed in this weekend, forecast highs only in the 60's next week. It is slow just about everywhere around here, Grand is slow, I know of a local tourney that was on Eucha a week and a half ago, and they did not do well. Beaver is also tough. I am optimistic that good fishing is just around the corner. Of course I am always optimistic about fishing, what fisherman isn't? m&m, big c, abkeenan and 1 other

vernon
Fished Sunday, Monday and yesterday. Thirteen fish and three (barely) keeper smallmouth. A couple of fourteen inch Kentucky’s. All caught on Ned. Zip on my beloved spinnerbait or anything else for that matter. When it gets like this, I lose interest way faster than when I was young! As an aside, whatever happened to the white bass? When fishing got tuff we used to be able to default to chasing whites to keep us entertained and provide for a couple of fish frys. Used to be able to do that April, May, September and October on a pretty regular basis. However, we ain’t seen a school of whites in at least four years and probably haven’t accidentally caught more than half a dozen during that same span. Just curious. Oh well. Back to the golf course I guess! "Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups." George Carlin "The only money ever wasted is money never spent." Me. Members NebSchmidty
Have no worries -- I will be venturing from the Great (somewhat) North on Saturday and bringing you cooler temps for next week. The weatherman says its going to top out in the 60s and drop into the 40s overnight. Also calling a round of showers with the front Saturday night into Sunday AM. That should help some, shouldn't it? Or is it still a couple weeks away from really starting to pick back up? If I get down this time of year it's usually around Columbus Day, so I don't have as good of feel for the transition out of the September/early-October funk.
