snagged in outlet 3 Posted November 6, 2017 Posted November 6, 2017 I thought I would give you the heads up so you could avoid the crowd. That and you wouldn’t be surprised when someone is in your spot.
fishinwrench Posted November 6, 2017 Posted November 6, 2017 They don't fish where I fish, so no worries. When at Bennett I stay in one of the only 2 stretches where getting to the water requires some effort, and the wading is a bit on the sketchy side. I've learned that if there's even a remote chance that you might bust your ahz then you stand a good chance of having that spot mostly to yourself. Or if there's anyone else there they are pretty cool to fish with.
Gavin Posted November 6, 2017 Posted November 6, 2017 You got it right FW. Snagged 's Dad was a founding member, did 7-8 years on the board of that club. Have nothing to do with them now. Always did better outside the park on the CNR opener. Self shuttle and float to Barclay. Nobody out, but wear some blaze orange. Deer season open (all year) in those parts. snagged in outlet 3 Posted November 6, 2017 Posted November 6, 2017 Yep, not "fish" the outlet, "stand" in the outlet. I got a talking to from the CA one time for "swimming" at Bennett when I was about 15 or so. Back then the bluff hole was deeper and I waded in with a swimsuit on as was up to my neck in the water. Occasionally treading water to get to the big fish that laid up along the far side. The CA called me out and said you can't swim here. I said I was wading and fishing. He said "son, if you have to tread water we consider that swimming" I got an escort back to the campground and the dude squealed on me to my parents. laker67, Daryk Campbell Sr, Terrierman and 1 other 1 3
fishinwrench Posted November 6, 2017 Posted November 6, 2017 I always wanted to take my high powered Labrador retriever down there on opening day and throw a stick below the dam. Daryk Campbell Sr and snagged in outlet 3 1 1

Bill B. Posted November 6, 2017 Posted November 6, 2017 I went to the very first opening day for C&R at Bennett. Must have been in the early '80s. I'm pretty sure it was on a Saturday, not a Friday. If a dozen people showed up that entire day, I'd be surprised. There were a lot of fish in the stream, and they MURDERED a black-and-yellow jig all day long. That's a day I'd like to go back and live over again. laker67 and Johnsfolly 2

I was thinking that me and 2 buddies went down for the first day of C&R. But I know where I was during December of '76 and it wasn't anywhere near a trout park. Would you believe Gitmo?
