MOPanfisher Posted November 1, 2017 Posted November 1, 2017 After doing a bit of research I might be willing to attend a weigh in or two! SpoonDog, grizwilson and Mitch f 3
SpoonDog Posted November 1, 2017 Posted November 1, 2017 Is there a list of named fish kept somewhere? Do they publish a "Who's Who of American Carp" with all the fish mugshots? If I wanted to make some sort of life list, traveling the country chronicling my adventures at catching the country's most famous carp, that'd be pretty important. Will there be opportunities for Carp of the Month calendars, or am I thinking too far ahead? I found this neat article on fish leather. Some of them even use carp! What's the American' Carp Society's position on turning one's trophy into a commemorative wallet or a lampshade? What sort of microfishing opportunities are available among the burgeoning American carp-fishing community? BilletHead, bfishn and Mitch f 3

I don't see the bass guys yatchin about the walleye catches or the trout guys about crappies.... I am sure that something giving you a heck of a fight, you thinking its the next state record and once you see "it" only a carp..forgetting the incredible fight you just had....fish dinner people I can imagine get pretty salty... most of what I post, I write or have written in the past....as far as picks would it be better if someone posts a pic they got online of the whopper-plopper they use or do they have to post one they own? it pains those to realize that the myths they think as fact are not....its like a child who learns Santa Clause isn't real and mom & dad lied to him. like it or not ALL americans besides native americans owe their roots to somewhere else..you mistake my passion for carp fishing as un-american and with that you would be wrong wrong guy dude..don't think it was me who posted anything of that sort... just because I don't think its cool to shoot a 30# carp or 8# walleye or gig smallmouths in a stream shouldn't have an effect of your skill at bow making or their use Ill gladly give you some coyote chunks to munch on if you like...I get called Peta type person all the time yet that would be a wrong assumption....people like me who like c&r fishing for trophy common carp are no different than those who c&r muskies or trout, bass ETC... I think I have posted the links to those studies some are from the USA too....I will do some more research and locate them again for your reading pleasure... I think you and a very few others are overwhelmed at 3 things 1) common carp are not the boogie man you have been told they are, and removing them can't guarantee better game fishing,...new evidence is mounting it may make fishing worse by removing a better food source 2) carp are a better fighter than almost every other option we have in freshwater, and its a challenge to fool the biggest ones. 3) interest is growing here and across the USA..and its Americans..not foreigners or illegals...but people like me who can bubba with the best of them...its not poor people, its not people with no other options...its people who love a challenge and love the pull of a big strong fish Hey MoCarp check out the post you started about the 40 pound carp on the fly please. SpoonDog Posted November 2, 2017 Posted November 2, 2017 Almost as though anyone can send a press release to a news station and they'll put it up on their website. 4 hours ago, MoCarp said: 3) interest is growing here and across the USA..and its Americans..not foreigners or illegals...but people like me who can bubba with the best of them...its not poor people, its not people with no other options...its people who love a challenge and love the pull of a big strong fish Oh it's definitely not poor people- $75 bucks for a hoodie AFTER you pay $35 in dues, AND the hoodie doesn't even come with carp-leather reinforced elbows!

When you're waiting 3 days for a named fish to bite, you can use it to swat away the flies. bfishn 1
SpoonDog Posted November 2, 2017 Posted November 2, 2017 I saw the folding pocket knife and thought it'd be ideal for puncturing air bladders. BilletHead and Quillback 1 1
