They can in SOME waters..def not EVERY water...hard to silt up a lake with very little silt....catfish and native suckers can do the same, its just not the bugga boo its made out to be...most lakes that have issues are classified as "eutrophic lake" ....typically a shallow natural lake or dug pond that has high biological productivity due to excessive nutrients, especially nitrogen and phosphorus, which can be much worse from run off from golf courses, lawns, septic leach fields, etc....these water bodies can support an abundance of aquatic plants. Usually, the water body will be dominated either by aquatic plants or algae sometimes common carp survive better than other fishes and get blamed for "over running" said lake too many carp are a symptom of a damaged water - not the cause... MONKEYS? what monkeys?
fishinwrench Posted November 4, 2017 Posted November 4, 2017 If carp are so cool then why are you calling them "golden bones" to try and boost their status ? If I was a bonefish I'd be insulted beyond repair. "Bugle mouth bass" never stuck, so what makes you mud-suck lovers think that "Golden Bones" is catchy? Lameness! They're freakin' carp. Coons and buzzards don't even want them. Greasy B, snagged in outlet 3 and BilletHead 1 2
snagged in outlet 3 Posted November 4, 2017 Posted November 4, 2017 I’ve caught both. You gotta be kiddin MoC. Come on man!
MoCarp Posted November 4, 2017 Author Posted November 4, 2017 I have caught bone fish... and huge bone is a small carp...bones runs are faster... but they tire faster too...Its on my list to fish beaver Island lake Mich for big carp on a fly and huge smallies its know for......pretty cool place beaver island...looks like the flats in the Bahamas.......I think it was lefty Kreh that started calling them golden bonefish Johnsfolly 1 MONKEYS? what monkeys?
fishinwrench Posted November 4, 2017 Posted November 4, 2017 I don't think so. Lefty probably caught carp long before he ever caught a bonefish, so why wouldn't he nickname the Bones "Chrome carp" ? We all know why. There's no denying that fish are divided by race. And this "Carp Lives Matter" anti-segregation movement that you're picketing about just seems like such a waste of time to me. You're a cool dude and I hate to see you piss your life away for a lost cause. Asian carp are at the bottom of the list, and the other carp species are right next to them. Try as you may you'll never even see carp elevated above gar or freshwater suckers, except on waters where no other fish are present. So c'mon, let's get you a new (better) screen name and shift your focus over to something worth fighting for. BilletHead 1

Again trying to equate carp fishing to those of color...to try and "low brow" fishing for carp, that dog won't hunt ...people pay $400 a pop to fly fish for carp, do I need to post an ad for that? 1 hour ago, fishinwrench said: You're a cool dude and I hate to see you piss your life away for a lost cause. well if guys like you were not worried... you wouldn't spend so much time trying to discourage people..just have not figured out why yet..my guess is you custom out Bfing rigs....or the worst thing could happen to a boat mechanic is people trending away from boat use.... 1 hour ago, fishinwrench said: Asian carp are at the bottom of the list, and the other carp species are right next to them. Too late 4 more states are having meeting to add commons to the gamefish list complete with all the associated length and bag limits....that must really stick in your craw when the show about carp fishing starts on the air..ala "swamp people" we will see a consument number of new EuroCarp anglers ....I can't wait..... I appreciate you open hostility..... MONKEYS? what monkeys?
fishinwrench Posted November 4, 2017 Posted November 4, 2017 Hey, the more people out carp fishing the better as far as I'm concerned. Carry on. My only issue is that you throw carp crap into posts about more desirable fish. Can't visit here without getting carp slime on me. It's annoying to quite a few here I think, but you don't seem to care....so I guess we'll just have to learn to live with it. Gonna take some time that's all. Some days I can tolerate it better than others. I'm sure some feel the same about me. BilletHead, Deadstream, tho1mas and 1 other 3 1
