Mitch f Posted December 10, 2017 Posted December 10, 2017 I’m really not that big of a conspiracy theorist, but something happened a couple of days ago that blew my mind. My wife misplaced her phone and we looked all over the house for an hour or so. We turned up nothing...so we decided to try the “find my phone” app or whatever it’s called on a home laptop. It showed the phone being very close to our house. So we assumed it was still at home and tore the house up looking for it again. After a while she used another phone to log in and guided herself with the map to where it said her phone was located. She started walking and the map guided her to the middle of the busy street right next to our house. She looked down and saw it laying in the middle of the street all crushed to pieces. She thinks she was loading the little one in the car seat and put her phone on top of the car and forgot about it. Moral of the story? Even with a completely crushed phone they can find you with uncanny accuracy, like down to a couple of feet. A little scary in my book. MoCarp 1 "Honor is a man's gift to himself" Rob Roy McGregor

Trout Addict Posted December 10, 2017 Posted December 10, 2017 Several apps tracks your movements and other things. Read the fine print of some apps and it will scare you. You don't even have to install the apps for them to track your movements now. I see something like "by continuing to view website you agree to our terms." They can now sell the data they mine to business and big brother and its Perfectly Legal. Ask yourself, why does a flashlight app want access to your entire phone even your mic? Scarry, imo. Gavin Posted December 10, 2017 Posted December 10, 2017 Could write a book of funny stories about things left on top of a car. Mitch f 1
fishinwrench Posted December 10, 2017 Posted December 10, 2017 All those stories don't end bad. I hooked a boat up once and set my phone on the bumper of the truck. It rode 40 miles without falling off. While I was launching, it rang, I picked it up and it was my wife. "What are you doing? I called like 5 times and you didn't answer". Uh....I was driving. "Oh, well you're a good boy for not talking on your phone while driving". Deadstream, tho1mas and Mitch f 3
Gavin Posted December 10, 2017 Posted December 10, 2017 Buddy left his wallet on top in STL on a driving trip to Montana. Was still there when he went to gas up in KS. Lucky Guy! snagged in outlet 3 1
