Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted January 6, 2018 Root Admin Posted January 6, 2018 Forty-seven teams are participating on this year's Boswell Memorial Trout Invitational on Lake Taneycomo. Some people think they're crazy... but it's been a tradition for the past 36 years.

Johnsfolly Posted January 6, 2018 Posted January 6, 2018 Can't wait to see some of the trout they catch. Thanks Phil. Haris122 1
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted January 7, 2018 Author Root Admin Posted January 7, 2018 Mixed results today. Most caught fish but hardly any of the bags were consistently good. What I mean by that is a lot of teams had one or two nice rainbows in the 14-16 inch range plus small stockers. Some had even bigger rainbows but real small rainbows to go with. There were 2-3 teams with consistently good rainbows and they placed high in the standings. There was one keeper brown caught (Mazdra - Collins). The 1st place team boated all the way down to the lower dam and caught their fish on black rooster tails with a gold spinner. It was their first trout tournament. I think one of them said he was a bass fisher and never fished for trout before. Lily's first weigh in, our newest granddaughter.

Seth Posted January 7, 2018 Posted January 7, 2018 I threw jigs all day up between Fall and Short Creek and caught a pile of them, but none were over 13”. Talk about a dink fest! Luckily dad caught that 1.94 and squeaked us in to 9th place. We ran way down river scouting around yesterday, but I couldn’t figure anything out so we just fished our typical holes. That water is big down that way! I wouldn’t be opposed to a little nicer weather in two weeks either. It was brutal this morning till around 11:30. crazy4fishin 1
