I have a new fishing buddy, Mike, that lives here in BV.  He haunts HLS, I just call him to get what I need, he's already there.  Perfect way to get stuff before you get there to clean them out.

It don't matter what the name over the door says it's all one company, at least until BassPro is done ripping out the parts they want. It surprises me that the Sherman Act doesn't apply. Maybe  keeping the Cabella's name is the means of avoiding antitrust suits. I would think that once BP has carved out the pieces they want and the select locations the Cabela's name will be up for sale?

Even online they seem to not be able to get the size or color I want then cancel the backorder when I can find the same thing around here no problem.

If they no longer carry an item, why do they still have it for sale on their site?

Seems to have gone to a clothing store, lot better mark up I guess.

Have you been to Academy sports lately?  They figured out long ago that "clothes" make the money and "sports" draw the crowd ...

Dad goes in to buy a $ 2.95 lure and the kids spend $189.85 on "sports" clothes...

I don't recall any big name retailer of sporting goods that was not primarily a clothing store.

I agree.  I loved Cabela's just the way it was...HOWEVER, I also love the little Bass Pro experience.  So....
