Members swelbo1 Posted February 27, 2018 Members Posted February 27, 2018 What is yalls preferred jighead weight and or hook size for the 4'' Keitech Swing Impact? I was thinking a 1/4, but not sure if the hook would be to long. Thanks.
dwiebenga Posted February 27, 2018 Posted February 27, 2018 I use 3/16 to 3/8 on my 3.8s and 3.3. I use the Dirty Jig Swim Bait and Fish Head Greg Vinson heads. Good Luck!
Sore Thumbs Posted February 27, 2018 Posted February 27, 2018 I use 1/8oz on my 2.8 and 3.3. Been using Dave’s Ned head jigs with a weed gaurd. My suggestion is to use the lightest you can get away with and let the wind dictate the weight.
Bushbeater Posted February 27, 2018 Posted February 27, 2018 1/8 underspin jig with a 3.8, 1/4 if it's windy or very deep.
dtrs5kprs Posted February 27, 2018 Posted February 27, 2018 1/8-3/8 with a 3/0 hook. That's for the 3.8 size, or equivalent like Strike King's swimmers. Oddly, some of the smaller swimbaits fish better with more weight than you would expect. 1/8 or 3/16 for those 2 & 1/2" size baits, #2-1/0 depending on the bait. Royal Blue 1
Royal Blue Posted February 27, 2018 Posted February 27, 2018 Keitech makes a really nice tungsten jighead that works perfectly with their baits. The heads are much smaller due to being tungsten. I've also come across some new Trokar swimbait heads that I really like. I have both brands in 1/8 and 1/4oz. The Trokars are 3/0 on the hooks, but I think the Keitech are a little smaller.
Champ188 Posted February 27, 2018 Posted February 27, 2018 I love this head in either 3/16 or 1/4 depending on wind and how much depth you want to achieve. And no glue needed. The double keeper holds tight. http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/War_Eagle_Grubber_Weedless_Swimbait_Head_3pk/descpage-WEGRB.html Sore Thumbs and vernon 2

big c Posted February 28, 2018 Posted February 28, 2018 I had the opportunity to do some "pool" testing with six or so different brands this wimter. I found the war eagles Champ told me about worked the best. The fall/rise and action of the Keitech and big bite on both size Champ mentions seemed most natural. Hope that helps and no......i didn't catch a single fish!!! Much like my Table Rock fishing. LD Fisher, Quillback, Champ188 and 1 other 4

In fact, they're all I've used since. And seein's how all my stuff got stolen not too long before that, they're all I've got in the boat now so the selection process is just the way I like it. In other words, should I use the bigger one or the littler one? Perfect for my semi-senile self! Thanks again guys!
