Basfis Posted March 9, 2018 Posted March 9, 2018 Great point mixer on the backing. I use old mono and tie in with a surgeons knot. fluorocarbon is spendy and the 200yd spools always have waste. I narrowed down to 3 fluoro line sizes and have them in bulk spools. Gut feel on 200yd spool, I was wasting a reel fill every 2 spools Amazon gets to about the same price as tackle warehouse Christmas sale.

I am not sure if it is still the case, but I know Excel used to actually be made by Sufix, who makes a pretty good mono. A guide told me he bought service spools of Excel to spool the spinning gear he had for clients.
ollie Posted March 9, 2018 Posted March 9, 2018 I am trying out some Ande 15# this year. Never have used it so if anyone has let me know. Not sure what to think about it since it is new to me. Seth Posted March 9, 2018 Posted March 9, 2018 I'm debating on just using Pline Premium CX in moss green on everything this year. I love that stuff for trout fishing. I got a spool of Seaguar AbrazX 15# for xmasthat I will be running on a my jig and swimbait setups to start out with though. Curious to see how it compares to Red Label and InvizX.
176champion Posted March 9, 2018 Posted March 9, 2018 12lb mono green triliene on everything.. I know everything about nothing and know nothing about everything! Bruce Philips

Royal Blue Posted March 9, 2018 Posted March 9, 2018 I've tried several brands of flouro and have settled on Sunline FC Sniper. I'm running 12lb on my spinnerbait setup, 10lb on my crankbait rods, and 16lb on my jig setups. Everything else is Excel or Big Game. I have one big swimbait setup with 25lb Big Game, and the other is set up with 65lb Power Pro braid. I fell in love with the Sniper because it's so much more supple than most others and the casting distance and control is so much better. magicwormman, mixermarkb and big c 3
