I have Falcon, G loomis, Lews... and Templefork.   Have liked all of them. The falcons are lowriders and have worked great.  The customer support has been excellent.  Lews has also been great support.

Take a look at Templefork...love the rods... but don't know about support.. I got a couple for 99 each online including shipping. Gary Loomis is involved with this company.

May try the Jason Christie, rod.. like the American made, and I like to support Falcon.

I would also look at the Dobyns 734C in the Champion series.  It is an excellent spinnerbait and all around rod.

Another $259 rod. The OP is looking for a $100-$150 rod.

I also have a basic Dobyn's Fury.  Pretty darn good budget stick too.

I have their 7'9" MH A-Rig/Swimbait model. For $100 it's a nice rod with nice components.  I throw big swimbaits, A-Rigs and 130 size ploppers on it and really like it. Being serious here, if you are older and the aches and pains keep you from throwing some baits this rod would be a nice tool for you. The big long handle on it takes the pressure off the wrists and hands and allows you to use larger muscle groups to throw the lure. Makes for a relatively stress-free lob cast. Rod is also pretty light considering it's almost an 8 footer.

While talking gear, I'll piggyback and mention a reel. I've been a Daiwa Tatula guy since they came out about 5 years ago. Started trying to switch all my reels to them since. Over 50% of my dozen or so combos now sport various models in the Tatutla line. I recently purchased the Tatula SV and it is the best model in the Tatula series as well as the best reel I've ever owned.  I own the original Tatula's and Type R's but the SV is even better. Honest to God it's nearly IMPOSSIBLE to backlash. So anyone in the market for a reel in the $150ish dollar range I would highly recommend this reel. If purchasing a reel for a youngster getting into fishing this would be a great reel to keep them from picking out their reel during the baitcaster learning process.

I have a Tatula. I like it. It does occasionally herk to a dead stop mid cast which enrages me. But it's usually after I've been snagged and likely pulled too hard, digging the braid into the spool. I usually spool it out behind the boat and reel it back in with heavy tension on the line and that helps. I probably equally like the Lew's I have which is why I went ahead with another one. Does really well with fluro on it.

I'd buy another Tatula if they go on sale.

I buy all my Tatulas on Ebay. They have some sellers there that other online retailers like BPS, Tackle Warehouse, etc. can't even touch. Can get the CT's for $100 and the SV for $140. Same holds true if you likes Lew's or Shimano's reels too.
