Terrierman Posted April 12, 2018 Posted April 12, 2018 Ok. So I caught a spoonbill that had a tag in the jaw. Me being a good citizen and all, I called it in. They told me I could have a free T-shirt and they would send me a letter with the details about the fish. Size, where tagged and released, when, all that cool stuff. Gave them the address and T-shirt size and pretty much forgot about it. Yesterday there was an envelope in the mailbox that said we got something with $2.05 postage due. Neither Lovey or I had a clue. So she went to the post office today. Got a T-shirt from MDC mailed with $2.05 postage due. So. Should she send them a bill for mileage and the $2.05? I mean free should mean free, right? Come on man.... Daryk Campbell Sr, MoCarp, slothman and 6 others 2 6 1
fishinwrench Posted April 12, 2018 Posted April 12, 2018 Well for God's sake they've already spent 6 million on that stupid paddlefish. I'd say the budget on that POS has been breeched. Let's see the T-shirt. Phil Lilley, grizwilson, tjm and 1 other 3 1
Terrierman Posted April 12, 2018 Author Posted April 12, 2018 Post office told her it was a frequent thing. Seems to be a late effort to control paddlefish budget issues,
fishinwrench Posted April 12, 2018 Posted April 12, 2018 When we turned in our Stream Team report last year they sent a whole box of gloves, bags, T-shirts, and crap that we never even requested. Giant box of goodies sent UPS. Probably 40.00 worth of leather work gloves, 20.00 worth of trash bags, 40.00 worth of T-shirts, plus notepads, pens, stickers, ect. I guess they just have an excess of stuff to give away when it is within one of their programs. Blows my mind that they wouldn't eat the shipping on one T-shirt. Crazy.
Terrierman Posted April 12, 2018 Author Posted April 12, 2018 Uh. Oh. She is on the e-mail machine. moturkey 1
Terrierman Posted April 12, 2018 Author Posted April 12, 2018 I have trouble with pictures. On the front it has a pic of a spoonie and text that says I caught a Missouri paddlefish. On the back it has MDC logo and says Discover Nature. It's heather gray and really is a good quality t-shirt.
Terrierman Posted April 12, 2018 Author Posted April 12, 2018 OMG this has turned into a deal. She is taking the t-shirt in the envelope it came in to the post office tomorrow. To see what postage should have been. You do not want to mess with Lovey. tjm, grizwilson, Phil Lilley and 4 others 5 2
MickinMO Posted April 12, 2018 Posted April 12, 2018 I can stop by Conservation Headquarters tomorrow on my lunch break and give someone a knuckle sandwich for you! Kidding aside, nearing end of fiscal year I bet whatever appropration postage is included in must be getting tight
Terrierman Posted April 12, 2018 Author Posted April 12, 2018 I think I'll just call Sara tomorrow and cut out all of the middlemen. Daryk Campbell Sr 1
