As always, the stories fly around and nothing adds up.   

I have a customer in the area that said he swam to a dock, called for help, and waited on the dock until help arrived.  Allegedly he seemed reasonably sober, but badly shaken up and had a bad gash on his shoulder.

No doubt they'll do a blood alcohol test on the guy.  In my younger and dumber days I have done some swimming after a few beers, it's certainly possible.

I am not very familiar with that part of the lake to know what they might have hit or if there is something that fools people. I know it was very foggy Saturday morning in Jeff City. My depth perception is terrible on the water at night unless there is a full moon

I presumed that he went to a treatment facility at police insistence, where they would have drawn blood first thing and that the charges resulted from such a test.

I don't speed boat, but  how fast would you guess he was going for the impact to have violently thrown all the boat occupants around or out of the boat?

We hit a bass boat in the middle of table rock one night that had came untied from a dock. We were going about 4 mph in a big sail boat and it about threw us off the boat.

I was going to say it would be like a motorcycle wreck without seeing what's coming.  And that was a rock bluff!!!

I read that the driver of the boat has been charged..i didn't read the article.

We were fine, just glad we hit it instead of the powerboats that were leaving Ahoy's that night. We took it back to the marina and found the owner and my brother made him learn some knots before he let him leave with it

Gentle cruising speed in a boat like that is 28-30
