Fishrman Posted June 18, 2018 Posted June 18, 2018 Fished with my son for a short while this afternoon. Was absolutely great, don't know how many we caught but it north of 25, with some dandy keepers. Had 3 over 4lbs. Best 5 over 18 lbs. All caught deep cranking. Fabulous time even in the heat. Best thing about this is my son found these fish a few days ago on his own. He was pretty proud 19 year old. abkeenan, crazy4fishin, Champ188 and 13 others 16
Royal Blue Posted June 18, 2018 Posted June 18, 2018 That deep crankbait bite has been pretty awesome once you find them.
Sore Thumbs Posted June 18, 2018 Posted June 18, 2018 I can’t figure that bite out. How deep are those fish? What depth? Structure type?

I've had some success on main lake points, setting the boat in 25-30 feet of water. The best ones are at the mouths of the bigger creeks, but these points also get hammered. I bomb a 6XD toward the bank and crank it down until it hits bottom. Sometimes it just wont feel right and I'll sweep the rod and they'll be on there. Other times they just pound it. About a week and a half ago we had 12 keepers on the same point doing this. Sore Thumbs, Quillback and abkeenan 3
Bill Babler Posted June 18, 2018 Posted June 18, 2018 That's pretty much like chocolate syrup on top the ice cream Fish, great report http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
Sore Thumbs Posted June 19, 2018 Posted June 19, 2018 Will this bite last all summer or is this a temporary thing?
Fishrman Posted June 19, 2018 Author Posted June 19, 2018 I have found it goes away. Last year it lasted into July but we had high water. I think that is why it lasted so long. These fish are on little spots and it takes time to find them. We have found two spots with them schooled up. There should be some more but we will have to keep looking.
Royal Blue Posted June 19, 2018 Posted June 19, 2018 Same. They're not everywhere, but I know of 3-4 spots that I've been catching them like that. The issue is that they're like 35 minutes apart! Sore Thumbs and merc1997 Bo 2
