Had to take my daughter to cheer practice and decided I’d get in a bit of fly casting practice.

Jumped into the creek just a couple miles from her high school. The flow from a gauge far downstream shows 17.5cfs so it didn’t look very promising. I fished for about 45 minutes and landed about 47,000 fish. :) Aside from a couple of largemouth that I “lined” hard right off the bat they all seemed very eager to play.

I used to have a blast standing in a creek with 3/4 weight fly rod and harass the green sunfish, punkinseed and chubs.  Always and good time.  Sometimes you get surprised when a decent bass or catfish attacks it too.

It was also cool since I hadn’t been to that particular spot in probably 30 years.

Nice job! Must have missed this due to one of my moving trips. Have to love a small clear Ozark creek with hundreds of volunteers. Only thing better would have been a few more minnows or darters caught ;).

I just have not found that kind of creek in Maryland yet. Some of the ones that I have fished seem almost devoid of fish in comparison.

Like DJ said, would love to see some tank photos :D!

I was waiting on the changing of the fish. But like everything else in my life it hasn't worked out. But it's going to happen in a couple of weeks and then I'll do the photos. Looks pretty bare and dull in there right now.

Anybody know why crawdads crawl out of the water??? It's really weird but there are only a couple of small holes where they can crawl out. And then I find them dry on the carpet the next day. I just can't figure out why they go to so much trouble to escape? They sure are good at keeping things clean while they last though.

We had the same problem. Seems like they just want a change in scenery. The ones we had in our tank were grassland crayfish. So they are semiaquatic anyway.
