Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted August 13, 2018 Root Admin Posted August 13, 2018 This guy has posted in a bunch of FB groups here locally that he's selling "cleaned and packaged" trout for $4 each. Yes, the authorities have been alerted but supposedly he's defending his new biz online saying it's perfectly legal because he's "fishing from the bank and not from a boat". He's in for a rude awakening... I've been told that it's a felony for selling game fish.
fishinwrench Posted August 13, 2018 Posted August 13, 2018 Well his girlfriend is a graduate from Smartass U. so I'm pretty sure they know what they're doing. 🤣 Terrierman and dan hufferd 2
fishinwrench Posted August 13, 2018 Posted August 13, 2018 Boy wouldn't it suck to get charged with a felony over less than 20 bucks ? That probably won't even pay for his gas to court.

In all reality.....how many do you think he'll find buyers for? Leave the poor bastard alone and go fight some REAL crime. 🙄 TroutRinger 1
snagged in outlet 3 Posted August 13, 2018 Posted August 13, 2018 I've held off saying this for years. A lot of locals I meet in the Taney area all brag that they have so many trout in the freezer they could eat trout everyday for 2 months or some other similar comment. The last time was at my time share office in July where the guy working there made that exact comment when he found out I like to trout fish. Even my wife raised her eye brow at the comment. There is procession limit right? If this guy is selling how many does he have?
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted August 13, 2018 Author Root Admin Posted August 13, 2018 4 a day, 8 in possession. Says he's buying more bait with his money.... cause he "likes trout fishing".

I think the possession limit pertains to a trip limit. For instance if you are camping or staying at Phil's place for a few days you can only have 2 day's limit per person. Once you get home and put the fish into your freezer at your residence it no longer counts as "possession" limit. I am amazed that MDC apparently allows the sale of sport fish of any kind.

You might want to double check on that. Born to Fish, mikeak, tjm and 1 other 4
