IMO a spinnerbait rod needs to be less than 7' for all day one-handed accurate pitch-casting.   Doing that all day with a 7'+ rod would be a wrist and forearm killer.

The one I broke was a 6'9" Lew's TP-1 so I pretty much agree with this.

But- that said, if you like the lews, run it by sportsman's outlet/lews HQ in Springfield and see if they will do anything for you. Lews customer service has been pretty outstanding, and they may pro-rate you a replacement.

I wondered about this too.  I drive right by there every day but never when they're open.  Might be my excuse to leave work early tomorrow!

I use the Cabelas tournament ZX rods. Buy them on sale for $70-80 or $100 anytime. Hard to beat for the money IMO. With 1/4-3/8oz spinnerbaits, I use the 6'8" topwater/jerkbait model and the 7' spinnerbait/swim jig model for 1/2-3/4oz. I've never fished a spinnerbait over 3/4oz so no clue after that point.

Champ 188 turned me on to the Ducket micro magic 6’9” rod, great spinner bait rod, the Dobyns 7’3” was basically made for top water I believe but is a great spinner bait rod for longer cast and more open areas, the smaller 6’9 works great around all the docks for me at LOZ and the longer I prefer at more open casting like at Table Rock.

6'10" lews is great.   Can't one hand it but still a great spinnerbait rod.  As fall approaches I like to make long casts on flats and burn it.   This rod will do that for you.

Falcon Cara 6'8" AOY model. Best spinnerbait rod I've ever used. 2nd place would be a G.Loomis MBR-783 in GLX, or an 843 if the 7' length was ok. I'm with Wrench though and like a slightly shorter rod for slinging blades.

I was tempted to by the Falcon rod for sure, I took Mr. bablers advice and bought the falcon care ccm-4-17 cranker for my wobble heads and medium cranks a few years back and love the rod, I seen a post a while back I remember where he uses it for spoons and other options but cant remember all he quoted, great products in Falcon

@mixermarkb and @Bill Babler do you think the 6'8" (MH) AOY Falcon Lowrider would be just as good for Spinnerbaits (3/8-1/2 oz)? I've been looking at this one for a while and I'm trying to decide if the extra $50 for the Cara would be worth it since it's a reaction bait. Thanks for your feedback! I throw Cara's for all my jig rods.
