oneshot Posted September 7, 2018 Posted September 7, 2018 Lets keep this country Great. Was at Jefferson City last Winter, talked personally with Eric Greitens. Talked with Mike Parsons at a FEMA Conference couple weeks ago, seems like a nice Guy and says he always has time to talk but yes they are politicians. Have a Good Time. oneshot BilletHead 1

jdmidwest Posted September 8, 2018 Author Posted September 8, 2018 Actually the Capital Building was a marvel to see and be in. The holes were all out on Sunday. The architecture, history, and museum was worth the 3 hours we spent there. Did not take a tour, just walked around in awe. Its a beautiful, massive structure. The gardens and fountains, the trees around the exterior. We took it all in without any of the other BS that really takes place there. And all of the taxpayer dollars that is spent there is hard to really fathom. Flysmallie 1 "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. Terrierman Posted September 8, 2018 Posted September 8, 2018 Having lived in Jefferson City and being involved in state government for a number of years, I admit to getting a little numb to the Capital and Capital grounds. But then I would think back to when it was built, the Benton art work and get back to being amazed. I knew personally several of the gardeners. They work really hard and make it a truly memorable place to visit.
oneshot Posted September 8, 2018 Posted September 8, 2018 My wife use to work and go to school in Jefferson City. Did you happen to go to the LEO Memorial in back. I went brought back memories knowing some personally. oneshot

Gavin Posted September 8, 2018 Posted September 8, 2018 I like the Benton murals at the Capitol. Benton's painting of Cave Spring on the Current R. is one of my favorites. River views from some of the blue carpet offices are pretty spectacular....average legislator or senate office is a hovel though.
jdmidwest Posted September 11, 2018 Author Posted September 11, 2018 Learning from the mistakes of Past POTUS, Trump has cancelled the rally due to the Hurricane Florence coming ashore. Better to command the US than to rally for a campaign. Wise choice, wonder how they will spin it. awhuber 1 "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. Thompson
ColdWaterFshr Posted September 11, 2018 Posted September 11, 2018 Ahead of Flo making landfall, I understand that he and Melania jetted down to Mara-A-Lago to work on his paper towel toss. After Maria hit Puerto Rico . . . . there was some talk within the GOP about how poor his accuracy with the Bounty was.
fishinwrench Posted September 11, 2018 Posted September 11, 2018 How can a president save the East coast from a Hurricane? Does he think that people will not help other people unless he asks them to ? Or does he put the CEO's of Insurance corporations under suicide watch?
