Foghorn Posted October 30, 2018 Posted October 30, 2018 The Mrs. picks up preying mantis' and walking sticks whenever she finds them. Our daughters don't see the need or humor in it.

timinmo Posted January 2, 2019 Posted January 2, 2019 It is bigger than the end on my thumb. Maybe a little over an inch across. I have a second one that is a little smaller, the picture was not as good. fishinwrench 1
fishinwrench Posted January 2, 2019 Posted January 2, 2019 Mantises are alien creatures. Not of this world. I mentioned in another thread about picking one up last Summer....and it let out a scream. Freaked me out ! 😬
slothman Posted January 2, 2019 Posted January 2, 2019 Those thinks are crazy, they will catch and kill hummingbirds. They eat the brains through the eyehole. Look up YouTube videos of mantises catching hummingbirds. It is wicked. snagged in outlet 3 and Johnsfolly 2

Look up YouTube videos of mantises catching hummingbirds. It is wicked. We like them. One summer we did have a large one that would hang onto the hummingbird feeder. Had to take if off there a couple of times before it didn't come back. Never saw it catch a bird but did see it try once. slothman 1
