Dutch Posted December 12, 2018 Posted December 12, 2018 Do you put on your outboard motor per month. I'm just wondering how my usage compares. I've been 170 times since I bought my motor in Aug. of 2016 and have put 157 hours on it so I guess that is 50+ minutes per trip average but I did a lot more running in the initial 10 hour break in.
aarchdale@coresleep.com Posted December 12, 2018 Posted December 12, 2018 I put 50 on my boat since March. They dont add up as quick as you think. I felt like i was on the water a lot this for me, year 6 or 7 times a month and i tend to run around a lot more than most the guys i know that have boats.
fishinwrench Posted December 12, 2018 Posted December 12, 2018 I try to launch as close as possible to the area I plan to fish, so it's rare that I run further than 10-15 miles from there. So even if I fished every single day I'd only average 30 minutes per day, or less, on my outboard. How many limits of fish do you suppose the average guy drives past in a day's time? Lifes2Short 1
oneshot Posted December 19, 2018 Posted December 19, 2018 Really Outboards need to be run. If I had another boat I would try running it 3+ times a week year round. My last Boat was a 18/60 with 70HP Nissan. I can't explain to my wife it was just too big for the Niangua River. I sold it so I no longer am able to buy another. I'd like to have a 16/48 with about a 20+ HP Motor on it. oneshot

Plus if she's down and you're taking care of everything how is she going to know unless you can't keep your trap shut? fishinwrench and snagged in outlet 3 2
