What do you recommend on Sunglasses

Quick question.... I have a lots of Health Savings Account money to spend or I lose it by March. I tried to see if spending it on my jeep or boat accessories would be covered as I use them for mental health therapy..... but sadly they said no.

So I am getting new prescription glasses and plan to get a dedicated pair of fishing prescription glasses that give a bit more wrap around eye cover than my daily wear glasses. My daily's are even polarized so that will be a given on the sunglasses.

Any thought on Color, Brand, Comfort?

What do you guys recommend?

I dont really have an eye guy. I have been going to Americas Best but now that I moved Im going to try Lenscrafters for my regular pair.

I think they are limited on sunglasses unless they can order them. Otherwise I have to provide sportrx with the measurements and the prescription. I would love to try some on and sportrx have a try before you buy frame option. I'll check with Lenscrafters tomorrow.

 

Maui Jim are pretty sharp. I Like this one too

I have a pair of scrip MJ Kahunas with the “Maui Brilliant” lenses; they are simply the best - but sadly priced similar to Costas.  I also own other MJs, Costas and Oakley’s and have previously owned Ray Bans, etc. but nothing compares to that pair for comfort and performance.  Not even close.  Try a pair on.

How do you get polarized  without tint? I've been told by several that tint was required.

I'm due to get a new pair myself - doing a little research and I came across this:

You may wonder why there is such a significant difference in the price of polarized sunglasses and if the extra cost is worth it. Glasses can be inexpensively polarized by attaching the film to the outside of the lenses. Two factors make this method less desirable. The film will eventually peel away from the lens; it’s just not as durable. Also, precision placement of the film is crucial. If it’s placed off the vertical axis some polarizing powers will be lost. Higher quality, higher priced glasses feature lenses with the polarizing film sandwiched between lens layers, encapsulating it. Placement is aligned exactly for optimum performance. This process results in superior clarity, better peripheral vision, and lasting durability.
 

I have had the lenses with the film on the outside, you have to be careful not to leave them on the dashboard on a hot sunny day as it can damage the film.  Next pair I will definitely be asking whether the film is on the outside or sandwiched between the lens layers.  My guess is most of the premium priced glasses use the sandwich method, but I would certainly check beforehand.

I have Maui Jim’s and a pair of cheaper ones for bike riding too.  

The MJs are perfect but you will pay dearly for them.
