I am super interested in hearing about this. I almost bought a talon last week to put on my river boat. I was hoping I could use it to quickly anchor up for a few more casts in prime spots while working my way down river. Can anyone chime in with hands on feedback?

I love my Ultrex and use it for holding in current all the time. Bret fished with me before he bought his and couldn’t believe how well it worked!

What is the "Mega Down Imaging" that comes with the Ultrex?  Is it a built in transducer?

They appear to have a wireless link - can you install an app on a smart phone and use that to direct the motor?

If you are strictly fishing shallow rivers, then a pair of powerpole/talons would probably work great. A few guys in the river bass clubs that I fish have them and seem to really like them. One thing that is VERY nice about having them on the rivers is when you beach the boat. No worries trying to drag the boat up far enough or finding something to tie off to to keep it form floating away. Just powerpole/talon down and the boat isn't going anywhere.

I fish a lot of water while targetting crappie and trout that would be too deep for Powerpole/Talons to work properly so the trolling motor was a much better investment for me.

I can't imagine a use for Power Poles or Talons on the rivers I fish. I would like to have an  Ultrex but, I'm hesitant to add more weight to the river jon.
