I did that with native flowers in the Columbia yard. Would have spring blooms(columbines, blue bells, celadine poppies) followed by summer flowers (brown eyed susans, cone flowers, milkweed) then autumn flowers (asters).

New ones bloomed today.  Came from my great great grandma down to me.  I’ve moved them over and over as we moved including for mom when she would move. I’ve given out bulbs to lots of friends.  They love Missouri weather.  Bearded iris.

Actually I like anything that lasts awhile. Peonies and the like are too short lived.

Wow, that's thought provoking.   How long can a rose bush live ?

We drove by my grandparents old place awhile back and I noticed honeysuckle and gooseberries along the property line that was there 50 years ago when I was still peeing in my pants.

I have no idea how long they can live. This rose spent 25 years next to the fence being trimmed by the moo cows. One day someone decided it needed to be moved to it's current location.
