Hi guys and gals, needing info on painting the inside of an older riverboat. Any recommendations on what kind of pint to use? Oil base, acrylic enamel, etc? Might even do the outside. Boat sat in a dock for years and I’m trying to slick it back up. Thanks for any help you can offer.

I'd recommend good old JD green and yellow for durability but I'm awful partial to JD's. Lol.

I noticed the combine's unloading auger in the background nearly touching the overhead door. They hang out a ways now days!

Nice job on the trailer. It's gonna be a beaut!

Don’t skimp on price, we ended up stripping and repainting before we had a durable coating. I don’t recall what brand we use but I came from our local  West Marine store, we added sand or some type of abrasive.

They sell the paint texture stuff at the pool store. Works great when I re-epoxy the stairs on my in-ground pool.

When I put a floor in my commissary boat (1/2" CCA plywood) I painted it with textured porch paint from Lowes.  It's holding up well.  Don't think that would be first choice to go on fiberglass though.  One other consideration - light colored floor is much cooler in the summer.

Try wiping a bit of muriatic acid on the stained area. That stuff does a good job removing the brown stains. Wipe it on, let it sit for a few minutes then rinse off.
