Went to BPS on 2/26/19 to get a Garmin Echomap Plus 63cv. They were on sale and of course they were out except for display model. The clerk did a search for one and found it at the Independence store and said he could order it and be in Columbia in a week. Went there today to see if it was in and it was not. I asked the clerk where it could be and he got the manager to look it up. The Garmin was still in Springfield and it could be another week before they got it. The manager today said I should have been given the option to go to Independence and pick up myself. I was so mad I told the manager I want my money back. They gave me my money back no questions. My frustration they should have told me it would be longer than a week. They are not the only place to buy things out there. They are going to be my last option to buy anything from them from now on.

I had the store order it because it was on sale. I did not know if sale price was for online orders also. I plan on ordering straight from Garmin.

Nope ....but less vendors/ competitors is never good for customers...be it boats, gear or grocery stores, great prices and customer service is driven by competitive markets

I have been very disappointed since BPS took over the Cabelas store here in Rogers- they have converted it to a BPS.

I have seen a decline in the helpfulness of the staff.  The assortment is terrible (no excuse for running out of Keitech swimbaits and RK's here!).

But my biggest issue is the checkout situation.  The last 2 times I have been in there the checkout has taken FOREVER- both times only 2 lanes open.  One of these times was the last Saturday of the fishing sale.   How do you only have 2 lanes open on a huge sale day?

And the end of the day:  I waited in line for forever and left without a few things I wanted.  Each of my last 2 trips to BPS have resulted in an order to Tackle Warehouse.  If you don't have what I want and can't get me in an out quickly then why should I come at all?

I have never been a fan. Prices are usually 15-20% higher than their competition (what is left of them anyway.)

I have seen the same thing in Springfield. Seems like they only ever have two lanes open. The place is always packed, it's more of a tourist trap than anything now.

Wife and I have almost switched everything over to online when it comes to large retailers. It has to be awfully convenient to get me to stop and go in some place when you can order online, free 2 day shipping, and prices within expected tolerances of a box store.

You don't have to be hounded by sales people, upset about the lack of knowledgeable sales staff, lack of staff at registers, store hours, or have to deal with all the other buffoons walking around in their PJ's in the middle of the day.
