I have never been a fan. Prices are usually 15-20% higher than their competition (what is left of them anyway.)

I have seen the same thing in Springfield. Seems like they only ever have two lanes open. The place is always packed, it's more of a tourist trap than anything now.

I couldn't agree more. I'll look at something, and if Academy has it, or I find it on line. Which you usually can. It's like you said. 15% to 20% less.

Luck is where preparation meets opportunity...... Or you could just flip a coin???B)

You don't have to be hounded by sales people, upset about the lack of knowledgeable sales staff, lack of staff at registers, store hours, or have to deal with all the other buffoons walking around in their PJ's in the middle of the day.

Plus, at the check out you don't get asked 17 questions about wanted to help out the starving kids in Ethiopia or donating to an organization to help some spotted zebra that needs saving.

Wife and I have almost switched everything over to online when it comes to large retailers. It has to be awfully convenient to get me to stop and go in some place when you can order online, free 2 day shipping, and prices within expected tolerances of a box store.

Me too.  If it's an item I already have experience with I buy it online.  Usually Amazon.  Best price and free 2 day shipping.  If it's clothing or shoes and I need to try in on I grudgingly go to the store.  I want to make sure my new waders don't make my butt look big.:)

I'm getting to the point I'm starting to risk clothing items as well.

We actually bought a rug online without seeing it and it worked out great.  Hard to tell about colors online but it had a bunch of good reviews and even customer photos so we risked it.

Regarding service and items in stock at BPS I'm in full agreement with most all of the above comments...

For items that I'm familiar with and are "on sale" at BPS I utilize their "Ship to Store" option. No minimum order amount (Yet anyway)

no shipping charge, and the order is usually filled from the warehouse in a couple of days. They notify you via Email, then you go to the

customer service  counter and pick it up.  I typically go in the morning shortly after opening and I'm in and out in minutes after providing

my ID. Previous experience keeps me away during lunch hours and early evenings but after 8 PM is usually OK. I'm a long ways from being

a millennial and I buy nearly everything online from various sources. My two major exceptions are hardware items and groceries.

Walmart offers this same service on their website and you can pick up your items at your local neighborhood market at the service counter

avoiding their slow checkout lines also.
