Members Lundnut Posted March 18, 2019 Members Posted March 18, 2019 Hi all, I think my trolling motor batteries (2) are on there way out. They are over 2 year old wet cells that came with my 2016 Lund. They ran way low on me today with not a lot of use. I'm running a Minn Kota XI5. What deep cycle AGM batteries do you recommend and who sells them around Kimberling City?
Ellros Posted March 18, 2019 Posted March 18, 2019 Should be another topic on batteries just a little ways down with some suggestions on brands.
Dutch Posted March 18, 2019 Posted March 18, 2019 I've had real good luck with Optima blue tops. I had them in my last boat and they have been in my current one for 3 years now and still going strong. snagged in outlet 3 1
Basfis Posted March 20, 2019 Posted March 20, 2019 O’Reilly. They are everywhere around these parts, completely capable of intelligently testing a battery (at a store level anyway) and stand behind their warranty. Open 7 days per week (should there be a problem) and priced competitively. The targeted marine brands are often not open when u find yourself in need of a battery. Everstart and Wally World used to be reliable, now kind of flaky on warranty snagged in outlet 3 1
Members HarryJ Posted March 20, 2019 Members Posted March 20, 2019 I'm using Pro Guide AGMs which have a higher amp hour rating than Optima and are considerably less expensive. They have a 24 month free replacement, plus 24 month pro-rated warranty and are available from Battery Outfitters in Golden MO. rps, big c, Devan S. and 3 others 6
96 CHAMP Posted March 21, 2019 Posted March 21, 2019 There are a lot of people that claim the everstart 29dc deep cycle battery is a great battery at a great price. It only has a I year warranty and available at wallmart stores everywhere. $86.00
Old plug Posted March 21, 2019 Posted March 21, 2019 Thing about batteries. A lot depends on how they are maintain and how much they are used. many are overcharged, or charged to fast and and much they are used. I no longer have a charger I use on the boat over 3amps.
