Quillback Posted April 3, 2019 Posted April 3, 2019 As others have mentioned on here. the spotted bass are really biting, they aren't everywhere but when you find them, there's usually a few in that area. I was getting them on 3.3 Keitechs fished on a 1/4 oz head. Points and steep banks, 5 - 20 FOW. Caught some on the swing jig with a Menace Grub. Dragging them on the bottom. Caught 2 keeper smallmouth today and they both came on the grub. Got some bonus eating fish, stopped to fish one last gravel point before heading in and ran into some fish that were grouped up in a small area in about 5 feet of water. Got a keeper walleye followed by a couple of crappie. One of those weird things that happens sometimes when you are fishing, would never have guessed those fish were there, I was expecting a bass or two at best off that spot. WT 50-52. LOTS of boats out there today. dtrs5kprs, cheesemaster, bfishn and 10 others 12 1

Bill Babler Posted April 3, 2019 Posted April 3, 2019 One crappie and one walter would be more than enough. Great Job Quill, looks like you had a blast. http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com

It was a really fun day, I enjoy fishing anytime I get to go, but some days are more fun than others. Sure helps to have some nice weather. dtrs5kprs, JestersHK, magicwormman and 2 others 5
bferg Posted April 4, 2019 Posted April 4, 2019 Nice Quill! Love it when Walter shows up! I suggest you go again tomorrow because I am headed over to Big M Friday and given my recent luck I will kill any bite that might be going on. Have a stink on me lately that I can’t get off. magicwormman and Quillback 2
m&m Posted April 4, 2019 Posted April 4, 2019 QB, those fish around Big M must be tired seeing the bottom of your boat. They sacrificed a Wally and some crappie just so you’d leave the area. Nice looking fish. Mike Macsimus 1
BilletHead Posted April 4, 2019 Posted April 4, 2019 Good deal Jeff! Great report and non targeted bonus fish.
