Got out early, flat calm, threw a top water and had some decent fishing for the first couple of hours walking the dog.  Caught a couple dozen on the top water with a few keepers mixed in.  The fish were on main channel banks and in the coves, the best bite was over 5 - 10 FOW.  Wind kicked up about 10 AM and the top water bite pretty much stopped when that happened.

Could not get much going on the Keitech or the shaky head.  For the most part the fish looked to be gone from the main lake points that they were on just a couple of days ago.  

Threw a crank on some windy banks, no touches on it.

Wind really started blowing, bite was slow, so I left at 1230.

Good job hitting a few on top. I went out today near dam at daylight. No topwater love. I couldn’t graph a fish let alone catch one. I didn’t graph any bait fish for that matter. Typical spring, up one day, gone three days later. I caught 4 smallies on four different baits in four different locations. 

Baits that worked was grub, tube, spinner bait, keitech. Caught from 8’ to 30’ of water. No pattern just luck. Backs of coves, main lake bluffs, and main lake points. Rough.

Tap, the guides at the dam are still crying the blues.  Most of the gulls are gone, but the fishing is still extremely slow.  I did hear that a few Jaws are starting to show up on gravel.  Best bite by far and not even close as of this morning was still the jerk bait, on any wind, with the bait just sitting motionless.

Most all the moss has gone, but nobody is getting much of a shallow bottom bite.  

Point 9 up the White clear to Quill's country is where the bite is including Baxter and Shell Knob.  If you  want to catch numbers and at times some size, you need to trailer up.

Thanks. Yeah I’m kind of a homebody, don’t trailer more than a quarter mile to the ramp in Beardsley, but after my last few days I think a trip to Baxter is in order.
