Water very clear and lots of bass sitting on beds.  There's also lots of slimey green snot that prevents covering water quickly with a C-rig, or anything else.   The best pattern I could come up with was sight fishing to the beds with a Texas rig lizard, Wacky Senko, or a jig & craw.  Spending any time at all on a single fish was a waste of time, they'd either eat whatever you pitched in there right away or they'd just ignore everything you showed them all day long.

Over a 2 day period (Thurs-Fri) we had two 5 pounders, four that were a bit over 3lbs., and seven that were between 15-16 inches, which doesn't sound too bad at all....but there were long periods where we pitched to PLENTY of good fish and just could not get them to bite.  So way more heart breaks than hugs and kisses, that's for sure.

Saturday 4 of us waded the creeks for Whites and although it was kinda slow, and frustrating because the green slime was heavy in those areas also, and the wind was blowing like crazy, we did manage enough for a fish fry that fed 7 people.  Looking forward to a good hard rain that will clear all of this snot out of here.

All I heard was that it was caught on a Crock O Gator Swamp Bug in Proctor Cove. That is what the guy said on the live stream of the BBB awards ceremony. I'm curious if it was a bed fish.

I have Tom's dad's boat here, they had problems after noon on the first day and dropped it off here before heading in to get their check.

Somebody allegedly reported that Tom had caught a 8 pounder back on Wednesday so they called them (Tom and his dad) in for a polygraph.  No deception was detectable so all is right with the world.

Swamp bug on a shakey head in Proctor cr. is accurate.  And an 8 pounder on L.O. during late April is most definitely a bedding fish.

He's a good dude, he deserves it.  👍🤟👏

man, swamp bug strikes again!

I have a bunch of those, and hate them behind a jig 😅

Never occurred to me to try them solo on a shakey head, but honestly, the way the fish were acting, it didn't matter much what you threw at them, if your timing was right and the presentation good..... they would eat it.

We caught good fish on jigs, lizards, sluggo's, wacky Senko's, and tubes.  Pretty much anything you could get into a bed, without it having a wad of moss on it, stood a 40% chance of getting bit.

Good job!  You have the timing of those whites dialed in!  I'm always surprised they're doing their run this late by you.  I suspect most WB runs on the larger tribs are done by now.
