Jig set-up question

I have been looking through the history here to try to get any advice on my jig setup..  Specifically line recommendations- I normally go really light on my line but this weekend I lost a few fish (and jigs) throwing some light line up into the trash.  What do you guys throw your jigs on?  Specifically in spring time when you are fishing more shallow?

Bait caster I fish 12 or 14 lb. fluocarbon and on spinning 8 lb. t i throw alot of jigs and PB&J , texas craw, green pumpkin jigs are working for at this time!

10# invizx on docks, 15# on most everything else, 20-25# mono for flipping bushes or junk in high water.

After breaking off a ton of jig fish, I throw finesse jigs on 14-15lb Sunline FC Sniper and bigger jigs on 17-20lb FC Sniper.  I don't get any less bites and I've only broken off a couple of fish in a year.  You get what you pay for on the line too.  I bought Pline and that was the line that I broke the fish off with.

I'll also say that I constantly re-tie and then I re-tie even more!

10lb flouro for dragging finesse jigs, 15-20lb flouro for dragging football jigs, 20lb flouro for short lining. I primarily use Sunline brand of different types but there are some other really good brands out there. I’m tempted to try Pline tactical but Sunline has been very good to me.

I may have gotten a bad spool, but I think I'm avoiding Pline going forward on anything but straight braid.  Too many times breaking off on a hookset, and I re-tie constantly.  I can't say enough good things about Sunline.  It seems a lot more supple than Seaguar too.  I do like the Yo-Zuri mainline flouro, but you'll need to use line conditioner pretty regularly with it.  It seems like it has a lot more memory than Assassin or Sniper.

20 all day. I used to use 15 and my passenger consistantly still outfished me from the back of the boat with 20. I dont think it matters

Hmmm that’s a shame to hear. If you get a chance to try Shooter you should jump on it. You might regret it though because it’s expensive and you’ll want more lol. It’s best for heavy cover situations and especially good for dock fishing.
