I’m sorry you got hit.  They’ve come near us but so far so good.  I used the radar Saturday to get my boat out and get in the truck before a front came through.

Only down side was I got swarmed black flies.  They bit every exposed skin I had including around my eyes in my ears and over all my head.  I’m all swollen even today.  If it wasn’t for the ridiculous sun clothes it would have been way worse.

I'll be curious to see if there is any significant damage this morning.  On my way in the work this morning I saw some wet ground trees blown over but that's pretty common.

Okay how can the local news say "A tornado is on the ground" and the next day......Nothing!!  We clearly saw rotation south of us where they said spotters saw the tornado on the ground.  I understand the need for safety but they are sensationalizing these events so much it's getting to be crying wolf every time.

Storms sweep through St. Louis but don't do big damage

Yep...after the Joplin tornado there was significant studies done to understand why the Joplin tornado was so deadly. A significant number of people that took part in the interviews all basically said "every time we turn around the sirens are sounding" and "nothing happens when they do sound them so we just carry on instead of take cover"

I realize the weather guys/gals need to error on the side of caution but its getting to the point that if the wind blows over 50 mph and there's a remote possibility of a tornado they are screaming for everyone to duck and hide.

Ok just got word to plan on working all night, at least lots of rain which we don't need. At night I listen to National Weather Service and watch 3 Radars. Yesterday we was about to close shop and Hook Echo popped up by Fair Grove, was watching then it disappeared as fast as it came up.

Be careful.

I understand the false warning thing and the way the meteorologists blow everything out of proportion for ratings. But the Joplin tornado was extremely deadly because it was a monster of a storm that hit a heavily populated area. Most of those people were in trouble even if they did take the warnings seriously.

I had a question at one meeting why are they so focused on Tornadoes when straight line winds cover a larger area?

Seems FEMA pays on Tornadoes.

From what I could tell, FEMA is the biggest scam ever.  They were here after my place got destroyed and even though I was fully insured and had no need for their assistance whatsoever, they absolutely wouldn't get the hell out of the way and leave me alone.   It was obvious that they just wanted to be here so they could log in their "much needed assistance" and get my signature on a few things.  They didn't get it so they hung around for days hassling me about it.  They even called me late one night on my cell phone from the motel.... obviously drunk.   Finally my adjusters showed up and after they had words with the FEMA guys they finally left.

I'm just a little guy in Gravois Mills, Mo. that had his house and shop destroyed.  Not a FEDERAL EMERGENCY by any means. 😅

That is one thing my wife does is make assessments for FEMA and I may be wrong but my understanding is if you have Insurance they won't help or if your Renting and it is a one time thing.

We had a Guy Renting, second time around and he was POed  because FEMA wouldn't pay him again. What people don't understand is FEMA says they paid out millions but spread out it is only couple thousand paid out. Funny there is so many Government Agencies  that come in but it has to be the right Agency to get anything done.

I'm with 3 different Agencies  here while back one was needed and ready to go but was told they were not needed, so what was they to do?

I'm surprised they would do this fishinwrench usually they don't give a crap.

Well they sure enough did.

A couple of my buddies were like... Hell, let them pay you if they want to !

But I know better than to sign anything government related, especially any kind of assistance that requires a signature.   That crap will hang in the shadows and jump on your throat later in life.

When my wife and I hooked up she was getting EBT and energy assistance.   Before our wedding I made her put an end to that business right away.  She likes to play the lottery, and I always tell her that if she ever hits a big lick the state will be at the lottery office to get a big share of it because she lived "assisted" for several years.

I don't help the government any more than I have to, and I darn sure don't want their help.  Ever.

Haven’t been to the river today but I’m sure it is way up for days still raining here.
