If that's true, I'll never stream a single episode of the BPT or watch another MLF broadcast. Anyone with feelings like that towards the Wood family is bat-crap crazy.

Didn't FLW require you to run Ranger back in the day? This is nothing new. Even if the kiddo wasn't part of a non-compete, it's still maybe a little too soon.

Not required to run a Ranger. They were sponsored by Ranger and had incentive money if you owned a Ranger. Extra $25000 to the winner if they owned one.

Truly good ya think, or just having a good run ?

When I think of truly awesome pro fishermen the only ones that always pop into my head are Nixon, Clunn, and VanDam.  And I don't think anyone will argue that Clunn has been the best ever, so far as a guy that can do it all, anywhere, and do it consistently.

I wonder if there will ever be another guy like him.

I swore that they made everybody run Rangers on the final day for years.

So the guys who went MLF gave up on the opportunity to make The Classic?  Man, money talks I suppose.

Didn't Ott win the classic this year? Is it next year that it's not possible for them to do both?

Ott will be allowed to defend his tile in the 2020 classic, but no other BPT will be fishing in it unless they go through the BASS OPENS . I think a few of the BPT guys are doing this I know Swindell for sure was fishing some. I also believe I read where after 2020 you will see fewer and fewer BPT guys promoting at the Classic.

I think there are some of these guys that will go back to BASS or FLW. This format may just not suit their style. I knew when it went to morning and no dam generation that KVD was done. To bad, but just not what he does

MLF seems flexible and willing to try different things for the sake of entertainment.  So in order to mix things up it would not surprise me if they try to have an event where only the 5 largest bass get scored while still maintaining the catch and release format.  That way a different group of fishermen my rise to the top.

I would like to see a tournament like that. I would really like to also see them adopt a rule that makes them catch a keeper sized fish on the body of water they are fishing in order for it to be scored.

That's going to be tough since one of the rules is to not let the fish touch the deck of the boat. If they have to measure every fish, then every fish will be touching the boat. It doesn't work with their system.

They could make it 1.7lb.    That's roughly what a skinny 15 incher weighs.

I believe you are right. I forgot about that. They definitely do in the BFL All-American.
