these federal agencies that police us but no one polices them.  Hear my story.  Sold a 6 hp Tohatsu to a fine young fellow who happens to play football for OSU.  He picked it up Friday, got back to Stillwater and took it out fishing.  Ran fine. Got ready to come in, wouldn't start.  Choked it(mistake).  Still wouldn't start.  Texted me at 1 am.  Texted back to prime it.  It started.   Got a text that morning that it had randomly quit running several times while traveling just 2 miles back to ramp.  Next morning I called Kim at Joplin Marine and he said don't choke a warm engine  (true) but the reason it wouldn't restart was the EPA MANDATED vent on top of the filler cap has to be just right or it won't feed fuel, and if you screw it out too far it seals off again.  They loosened the fuel cap a little and its still running.  Just saying.

I remember having a plastic tank sucked seemed like to about half its size before the engine quit.  Course my ATV quit once and after messing with it I discovered that one of my kids (I blame them) had shUT the bent on the fuel cap.  I have no idea if it was a federal agnency who mandated it or not.  I do know that whomever decided that gas cans should be changed to the point that they are almost useless is the real bad guy.

My Sceptres from Tracker take up way less room when they are flat...

The new EPA fuel tanks are designed to let air in but not allow air and vapor to escape.  They didn't have brains enough to consider that when a fuel tank warms up that it will swell up like a dead pig and create upwards to 60psi of fuel pressure in the fuel system, which is more than enough to blow needle valves off their seats, blow holes in fuel pump diaphrams, and rupture fuel lines.   So not only is VAPOR going to escape into the atmosphere.....Raw Fuel will too.

The new age fuel hoses with the vapor liners won't last a single year before the liner collapses inside the hose, causing a fuel restriction.    Absolutely ignorant (and dangerous) engineering.   I can't believe the stupidity being displayed these days, and the audacity to charge 300% extra for it.

I bought 2 big spools of old school 5/16 and 3/8 Gates fuel hose (the GOOD STUFF) but I'm not allowed to sell it.

I use it on all of my own stuff though. 😉

My Tracker from last year had one cheap tank and an Atwood relief valve.  The tank didn't seem to swell much but the quick connect is now leaking at the ball valve.  I bought another tank and relief valve this year so will have spares.

When checking the fuel pickup this spring (came loose so I installed a clamp) I find the tank has quite a bit of dirt in the bottom.  Of course it must be from that valve.  Now BassPro no longer sells the valve and they were closing them out on Amazon.  Is there something else replacing that system?

If our big brother is so hell bent on taking care of us. What is the deal with the zipper. Why do we as a society subject our young men and the occasional drunken old guy  to the trauma and terror of the zipper. Little Mikey looked like he had been in a war zone by the age of ten. Stop the madness!!! Two words. VEL-CRO. Make it happen!!! Write your local corrupt legislator and protect our young! Send all donations to protect the package .com.

Luck is where preparation meets opportunity...... Or you could just flip a coin???B)
