dan hufferd Posted August 5, 2019 Posted August 5, 2019 Had to work for it, tried a little of everything, dropshot trick worm 25ft deep on a point at 4pm brought up a nice smallmouth 3lb 9oz 18" long. Tried the old erie dearie, at about the same depth to produce a 21.5 inch walleye. Got checked by the game warden (very nice guy ) dropped the erie dearie down just after he left us, with the warden still in sight, I just knew it was a BIG walleye nope...catfish. Still hunting for some sort of pattern, I tried some long line troll with my new trolling combos, and found this one 12 inch crappie. I did find 4 short eyes and a drum at about 7:30 on a point with the Bink 1/2oz silver spoon, I caught 4 walleye, and one drum in about 5 minutes, it was great ! All fish released and still swim. BEST OF ALL, I SPENT THE WHOLE WEEKEND WITH MY WIFE OF 31 YRS ! GOD IS GOOD ! zarraspook, Hunter75, packersooner and 18 others 21
Johnsfolly Posted August 5, 2019 Posted August 5, 2019 Great days indeed Dan! Could not ask for better -- great fish and company! Congrats again buddy! dan hufferd 1

Heretolearn Posted August 5, 2019 Posted August 5, 2019 Congratulations - both on the fish and the good company! I do also have to compliment you on keeping the drum as well. We are getting way too many. It seems like I catch 1-3 every trip and I don't set them free. In regards to walleye, I have caught several shorts my last couple of trips, but only 3 keepers. I have also kept 3 nice spots. All of the fish have been full of shad and the bass usually burp them up when I catch them fishing for walleye. I will have to say that the spots eat good. dan hufferd 1
Krazo Posted August 5, 2019 Posted August 5, 2019 nice fish. always good to spend this quality time with your wife. glad you had a good time and the fish cooperated. dan hufferd 1
MrGiggles Posted August 5, 2019 Posted August 5, 2019 Seems like the bite has slowed down a lot from when they first started pulling water. Fished Friday and today with only one 15" walleye and a few other species. Nothing really noteworthy. Caught some bait too. Boat traffic was insane. Crabtree ramp was full at some point today. nomolites, dan hufferd and Old dog 417 2 1 -Austin
Old dog 417 Posted August 5, 2019 Posted August 5, 2019 Good job and good pics Dan. Great mixed bag! Been a while since I used a Erie Dearie so thanks for reminding me to try one again. MrGiggles, Congrats on getting that motor going again and getting back on the water. Hopefully the COE will get all the courtesy docks reinstalled soon and spread out some of the ramp traffic. od dan hufferd 1

Thanks after having my self esteem trodden over on Beaver, I thought that I might try to find it again on Stockton. I feel better about myself now😁, no therapy needed.
