A simple rule of no unlicensed vehicles, and no tolerance for squalor, is reasonable. But buying a place where you can't have a boat/camper in your driveway, a badminton court set up in your yard, or the freedom to do maintenance on your equipment, is a bit much. You might as well live in an apartment....So why don't you? If you were to go outside and practice fly casting in your yard I bet your neighbors would be peeking through the curtains while on the phone with the president of the HOA......"This guy is out here waving a stick around and I need to check the mail....but I'm scared to go out there. Help!" No above ground pools with green water and mold on the outside. no chain link fences. We can have a badminton net up out back and we can have trailers and work vehicles for 2 days and if you need more just do it and take the warning. My subdivision is as close to apartment living without being an apartment or condo. I grew up in the burbs so it's what I'm used to I guess. And I'm a central air conditioning baby. I've never lived with out it. fishinwrench 1

MOPanfisher Posted December 6, 2019 Posted December 6, 2019 I don't mind my neighbors having some junk around. Sometimes I need something like an axle out of an old car to make a trailer with! Or a car hood to slide around on the snow, ahhh the good old days. I know a few places around home that cause an HOA board to have a series of seizures and the Health Dept to just shake their heads and leave. Life in the country. Daryk Campbell Sr 1

oneshot Posted January 2, 2020 Author Posted January 2, 2020 Our HOA called me one time to tell me there was a Boat parked by my Cabin. LOL I told them to call back when it was gone. oneshot snagged in outlet 3 1
