fishinwrench Posted December 25, 2019 Posted December 25, 2019 Don't exactly understand the panic over the melting glaciers. Just because it has warmed from 36 below zero....to 31 below zero, doesn't mean anything is close to melting !
snagged in outlet 3 Posted December 26, 2019 Posted December 26, 2019 Doesn’t matter anyway. Nobody even knows us after 3 generations. Maybe it’s supposed to warm up.

Yeah, we'll get through it. The alarmist stuff annoys me more than the potential consequences. Supposed to be warm tomorrow, I think I'll go fishing. snagged in outlet 3 1

New Orleans going to be under water. Look at where it was built. Same with New York City. Really I’m thinking Why? I was in California in the ‘70’s . At the time they was clearing off the hillsides but November it burnt and December the heavy rains came. We are getting ready for Earthquake and taking care of people in St. Louis. Most there think it will not happen but we are thinking when? During bad weather I’m watching Radar at the office. Most Tornadoes stack up in the corner of Oklahoma which is why Joplin got hit so hard but the very worst I seen covering a large area was a strong line coming across Kansas and not stopping until it hit the hills of Eastern Missouri. Yes they will go up and down hills. When we first moved here built on top a ridge didn’t take long to realize we had messed up because of brush fires but we did enjoy the view. oneshot Daryk Campbell Sr 1

I’ve fished many times getting ice on my Eyes of the Rod but yes I caught fish. The water is clear this time of year you might go to smaller line. Fish where sun is hitting the water. oneshot Daryk Campbell Sr and snagged in outlet 3 2

Yes they will go up and down hills I used to think that people living in trailers and manufactured homes in tornado alley were idiots, until I had one take my house. A tornado will take a house just as easily as it will a trailer, and it's alot quicker and easier to collect the insurance and just roll in a new one. It took over 8 months to rebuild a stupid house. And after only 12 years it was already due for new siding and a new deck, then the heat pump swallowed it's @$$. Would have been way better off buying a manufactured home. snagged in outlet 3 1

If a person has never seen the devastation of a Tornado they never understand. One thing different between regular house and manufactured home is Insurance but if hit with a Tornado they are both trashed. We went to Columbia couple times it is very clear where the Tornado went through in Jefferson City. oneshot
MOPanfisher Posted December 26, 2019 Posted December 26, 2019 I spent six weeks on Joplin after the tornado, it was impressive what it could do. Anything that can move a 5 story concrete building enough that it is unusable is mind boggling. Daryk Campbell Sr 1
Terrierman Posted December 26, 2019 Posted December 26, 2019 Couple of wild things I've seen tornados do: Joplin back in the mid '70's had one go right down Rangeline Road. On the west side of town there was an abandoned drive in. Only thing left before the tornado was the steel pipes the speakers used to be mounted to. No speakers. After the tornado, they were blown over to about a 45 degree angle. That's windy. Webb City in the mid '80's. I saw a two story house moved a good eight feet off the foundation. Not one broken window and the roof looked just fine. Too weird. Daryk Campbell Sr 1
