Bushbeater Posted January 3, 2020 Posted January 3, 2020 I will spool it up and give it a try, I''ll use some 4# Maxima for leader if I can tie it. They make that Nanobraid down to 1# test, .001" diameter. That would be really interesting to knot.

What color is the Nanobraid? Just camouflage it with ink if it's bright white or something.

bfishn Posted January 4, 2020 Posted January 4, 2020 There's been some interesting research on knots of late, Popular Mechanics version at; https://www.popularmechanics.com/science/math/a30393601/math-knots/ Particularly interesting is the actual research (not particularly the PM article) was focused on explaining the "why" of empirical, observed knot characteristics, rather than predicting superior examples of pure math models. I can't dance like I used to.
Bushbeater Posted January 4, 2020 Posted January 4, 2020 I mostly filled the spool with 6# mono backer, then about 75 yards of the 4# Nanobraid tied on with an Alberto. The knot wasn't to difficult except for the limpness of the braid. It seemed to hold very well. The braid is almost impossible for me to see, so a leader probably won't be necessary. I'll test it out next week at Taney and post a review. rps and Daryk Campbell Sr 2

And maybe even to spin a complete tapered leader out of. Does it float or sink ?
Bushbeater Posted January 4, 2020 Posted January 4, 2020 I think it's gonna float. I put about 10'-15' in the water (No Weight) to remove a bit of twist and it just laid on top, didn't even get wet. fishinwrench 1

Mitch f Posted January 5, 2020 Posted January 5, 2020 Line and hooks are the one of the only things I won’t skimp on. I would also add split rings to the list but they are in 2nd place. "Honor is a man's gift to himself" Rob Roy McGregor

But in fairness, nobody can 🙄 That would be like counting the number of times a hot naked MILF parachuted into my boat and squirted on my trolling motor pedal. Bushbeater and Mitch f 1 1
