My Chinese in laws are panicked for their relatives...kind of freaky. Overcrowded hospitals, lack of medicine, it’s a recipe for disaster. All in time for Chinese New Year too.

Scary stuff.  I saw a news blurb where they were constructing 2 new 1,000 room hospitals in Wuhan.  

One of the strains of flu going ad here right now is pretty nasty too.  My buddies wife has it and she is really sick.  Latest flu shot doesn't cover that strain either.

Don’t know if it’s true but I’ve heard the Chinese government is under reporting cases and deaths.

Mitch, our prays for your wife's family and anyone else in danger from this.  I know our well wishes don't buy much but certainly we hope that this tragedy will be under control soon.

Most governments can’t be trusted to tell the complete truth. The Chinese government is worse than most governments.

I am concerned.

Interesting how the oil and gas markets are reacting.  Gas futures for February are down 6 cents/gallon.  I guess people are seeing a potential for a decrease in travel and therefore less demand for petroleum products near term.

I notice I can get regular gas at certain stations for under two dollars per gallon. And it seems like that was going on before the virus broke out. I’m just wondering if this is signaling a recession coming up… Maybe they know something that we don’t.
