Terrierman Posted March 23, 2020 Posted March 23, 2020 When I fell on the ice that infamous December day I knew I had done something bad. Went straight home and started drinking whiskey straight. It took a while and you're right - a lot of pain pills but got it fixed eventually and finally well. Hate to break it to you this way, but it was by far and away the worst orthopedic surgery and recovery (painful and long lasting and tough rehab) I've had, and I've had a bunch. I hope you are able to get this taken care of sooner rather than later. Hang tough.

True that. Worse than back recovery that didn't fully happen. Went in anterior to fuse spine. What hurt worse is where they took bone off my hip to use for the fuse deal. Had to use a walker for some time. One thing for certain @MOPanfisher after some time that pain will go away and be in the past letting you go on with your life! Suppose to go have my Shoulder looked at so they can tell me there is nothing they can do because I destroyed it. oneshot

Need to wait as long as possible. If you wear out the replacement then it cannot be fixed again. I may not have full use of it now but have some use. OK so lets see...MOPan, Billet, N9, I think Les have had dislocation events. just curious who's all had these injuries and how it happened.. Just give the word and I'll kick off another thread.. I'd like to know... Mine was a Posterior Dislocation (Ken Doll) rotated fully extended shoulder straight backwards when I drove past the Weight bar upright doing incline with 135lbs...(went right over the top and it kept going till the horrific noise my shoulder made when it let go) Palm of Left hand was pointing to the ceiling (arm straight behind me) with my Humorus Synovial Ball sitting againts the ribcage. I still suffer like you guys on the daily. Never had anything done to it.
Quillback Posted March 23, 2020 Posted March 23, 2020 Ugh, shoulder replacements - you guys have my sympathy. You'd think knee and hip replacements would be worse that a shoulder replacement because there is so much more weight placed on knees and hips, but it's the shoulder that is the worst one.

Never had anything done to it. I am not sure when I done mine. I blame it partially on the orthopedic guy I was seeing regularly for my back. He talked me into taking a low dose maintain opioid to relive back pain. Take in mind this was many, many years ago when that was the norm and considered the right thing to do. So I never knew when I actually tore it. So here we go no tendons doing their job, Essentially I was grinding bone on bone until the pain got really, really bad and I could hear it grind this opening a spot for arthritis to take hold. After that I kicked the opioids. Doc said he didn't think I could do it on my own. Many prayers and a lot of crying at night I got it done. Now I just put up with the pain. It is what it is. Well got rotator cuff surgery and it helped for a few years. Did see a high power shoulder guy when I lost enough movement it began to worry me and he said hold off as long as I can and I am still doing it!
